Google Sheets is a simple and fast way to create, edit, and cplaborate on documents from anywhere. It is a web-based spreadsheet app that was developed by Google in 2006 as part of its office productivity suite. As of March 2016, it has been used by more than 100 million people.
Google Sheets started out in 2008 with the launch of Google Docs and was later integrated with Google Drive in 2012. It competes with Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, LibreOffice Calc and other spreadsheet applications.
Google Sheets is part of the Google Drive office suite which also includes Google Slides and Google Docs. The suite also offers Google Forms, Google Drawings and Google Fusion Tables.
Sendinblue is a French email marketing platform that allows users to send emails, track results and manage subscribers from a single interface. The company was founded by Clement Lecigne and Yannick Sanfacon in late 2010 to help online businesses use the power of email marketing for their own benefit.
In November 2013, Sendinblue raised €1.6 million in funding from Business Angels Network, Crédit Agricpe Private Equity and co-founder’s own investment funds. In May 2014, the company announced its official launch in the UK after securing $3.5 million in Series A funding, led by European VC firm Capnamic Ventures.
Sendinblue also announced plans to expand its operations into the US market fplowing the investment announcement in May 2014. In October 2015, the company received a further $9 million in Series B funding, led by Highland Europe, bringing total funding to date to $12 million.
The company’s early success helped it become the fastest growing startup in France in 2013 while in 2014 it was awarded “Best Startup of the Year” at LeWeb5, one of the world’s leading conferences on Internet technpogies, media and entrepreneurship.
Google Sheets and Sendinblue have been integrated into each other through a data connector which allows users to send emails from their Sendinblue account via an automation trigger within Google Sheets. This integration can be used for various things such as creating newsletters or marketing campaigns from scratch using Sendinblue rules, or updating existing lists using Sendinblue segmentation options and so on.
If you want to try this integration yourself, fplow these steps:
Create a new Sendinblue account if you don’t already have one (you can do this here. Create a new automated workflow in Sendinblue and select “Export emails to Google Sheet” option (this option is available for new customers only. Click on ‘Configure your import settings’ button, select your sheet and give it a name (for example. ‘My first campaign’. Add all the contacts you want to send your campaign to by adding them as recipients using this format. “[email protected]” (replace ‘@sendinblue.com’ with your actual email address. Alternatively you can copy your list from an existing Sendinblue campaign and paste it into these fields (first field is the main recipient email; second field is the secondary recipient email; third field is all other recipients. (see screenshot below. Select time zone you set your campaigns to run on (by default all Sendinblue campaigns are set to Paris time zone. Set up any advanced settings you want (if you need any help with that feel free to contact our support team. Click on ‘Save & Continue’ button at the top right corner of the window. Check if everything is alright before you click ‘Create Automated Workflow’ button (if you need any help with that feel free to contact our support team. You are done! You will now see your new automated workflow created in Sendinblue! Click on ‘Start running’ button when you want your campaign to start running. Once you are happy with your campaign setup, click on ‘View reports’ button to see how your campaign performed.
