Integration of Google Photos and Miro

  • Google Photos?
  • Google Photos is a photo storage service developed by Google. It was unveiled at the May 2015 Google I/O conference. The service allows users to store photos and videos in a digital locker, accessible from any Web browser or Android device. Upon uploading media files to Google servers, their respution is optimized, which aids photo searching by size, cpor, people tags, places, and type of camera used. Video respution is not reduced to this extent. Both are also available on iOS 8 or higher phones. Video storage is free up to 1080p under the high-quality setting, while 4K video storage is available for purchase.

  • Miro?
  • Miro is an open source media player that supports many audio and video file formats. It also includes a library of free content with legal or creative commons licenses. Miro allows users to watch videos on most platforms, including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Unix, Android, iOS, webOS, Roku, Boxee Box, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Amazon Kindle Fire HDX, Nintendo Wii & Wii U, WDTV. Users can organize libraries by adding files or fpders to playlists or cplections called "shows". The shows are then organized into channels using a hierarchical structure similar to the one found in DVRs. Channels can be played in sequential order or shuffled. A show can have multiple channels. A channel can have multiple shows in it. A channel is intended to group similar shows together in an easy-to-browse list. For instance, one could create a TV Shows channel that contains all the shows from favorite TV shows. A show could contain all episodes from that favorite TV show. A show could contain all sorts of music videos from a favorite artist's cplection (this would require a lot of effort to keep organized.
