Google Groups is a free service that helps people communicate more effectively, and it can be used to create mailing lists. The service includes:

Google Contacts is a free web site that enables users to keep in touch with their friends and cpleagues online. It allows you to store, organize, and share information on your contacts. You can use Google Contacts to:

• Create new contacts by entering name, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, and instant messaging user names. You can also add other personal information (such as birthdays. to each contact record.
• Find contacts that you have previously entered into Google Contacts. To do this, you can search for a contact by name or use the “People Also Found” link. If you find someone that you know but do not have in your contacts, you can invite them to join your contacts list. They will then receive an email asking if they want to join your contacts list. If they accept, they will have access to all the information in your contacts list by visiting Google Contacts.
• Manage your contacts by marking certain ones as favorites, removing duplicates and unnecessary contacts, and organizing your contacts into groups. You can create a group by selecting multiple contacts and clicking “Create Group”. Once you have created a group, you can give it a unique name and decide who should belong in that group and who should not. You can also add notes about your groups, such as the type of work or schop that each member does, or what kinds of activities they enjoy. You can view all of your groups in the left navigation panel of Google Contacts. Within each group, you can filter by any information that you added about the group in the “About this Group” section.
• Share your contacts with others using Gmail Contacts Extensions. You can invite others to view specific contacts with whom you want to share information; you can also choose to let other Gmail users edit your shared contacts. Your shared contacts are visible only in your Gmail account and cannot be accessed outside of your Gmail account unless you explicitly give them permission to do so.
