Integration of Google Groups and Asana

  • Introduction (300 words)
  • Google Groups and Asana are both web-based group messaging and task management platforms. Both were founded by two Stanford University graduates, with Google being founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1998, and Asana being founded by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz in 2008. The purpose of this article is to examine the similarities and differences between the two technpogies with regard to cplaboration, integration, and social support.

    Google Groups

Google Groups is a free service provided by Google which allows users to create email groups that can be used for anything from sharing photos or organizing book clubs to distributing announcements, or even sending mass emails. Google’s Groups feature is available on both their Gmail service and their Google Drive file storage and sharing application. The service is also supported by Google Hangouts, a chat application which supports group video chats. Google’s Groups feature has been used extensively in education by universities such as Harvard, MIT, and the University of Michigan since its release in 2001.

    Asana

Asana was originally developed for internal use at Facebook in 2008 before it was released as a public beta in 2010. The company was founded by Dustin Moskovitz, the youngest self-made billionaire on the Forbes 400 list at the time of its release. It is a task management platform that allows individuals and teams to organize projects and tasks, assign responsibilities, and track progress. Asana was originally named “Astro”, but Moskovitz changed the name because he thought it was too similar to Microsoft’s “Astor” project management software. Users of Asana can communicate with each other through a shared inbox, private messages, or direct messages. The platform also allows users to work offline on projects, and provides an API for developers to integrate it into other applications.

    (200 words)

Both Google Groups and Asana provide communication features that allow users to connect with each other no matter where they are located. However, Asana also allows users to manage their projects from anywhere as well. It is much more difficult to find information about previous conversations in Google Groups than it is in Asana’s shared inboxes, but both platforms offer tight integration with other Google services such as Gmail and Google Calendar. Because Asana is still growing in popularity and reputation, it is unclear what the future hpds for it as it grows.

The process to integrate Google Groups and Asana may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
