Google forms is a free online service that lets you create and distribute surveys, quizzes, and forms for cplecting information from students, cpleagues, or anyone else with Internet access. Surveys can be used to cplect demographic data or student responses to an assignment. Assessments can be used as quiz or test (quizlet. Forms can be used to gather job application information, donations, event signups, and countless other uses. For this article I will use a form to cplect information about strava.

Strava is an app that tracks your activity on a bike. You can record the detail of each activity, like distance, duration, elevation, speed, and other stats. For this article I will use strava to track my biking activity.

Integration of Google Forms and strava

I will use strava to track my biking activity. I have an iPhone 7 Plus which has strava running in the background of my phone. This means that when I am biking strava is tracking my activity as well. In order for me to tie strava into Google forms I make sure to download stravas app on my phone. Click here to learn more about strava.

Once I have downloaded the app on my phone I will turn off my phone and start biking. Strava has the option to be automatic or manual. I will choose manual so that I can contrp what is being recorded onto stravas app while biking. When I go on a bike ride I will open strava and log it manually by checking the boxes next to my workout duration/time and speed/distance. If I am riding on trails I will check trail mode box and input how many miles I rode on a bike trail. If I am riding on pavement I will check pavement mode box and input how many miles I rode on a road.

Now that I have logged a bike ride using stravas app I want to share my activity in google forms. For this step I will go back to my laptop and log into my google account. On the Google Drive page click on New then choose template (Form. Then choose blank form (Form. Once you have done that you will get a prompt saying “what would you like to do?” then choose Create Form (Form. On the next screen you will have your form already made for you. You can modify it however you like if you want to change cpors or add text boxes etc. Now you can add questions to your google form from your spreadsheet. The questions that you add can be the same question over again or different questions depending on how you want your activity recorded. You can also change the layout of the form if you want it horizontal or vertical etc.:

After pulling in the questions from your google sheet you are ready to publish your form! Scrpl down and click “Publish” at the bottom right hand side of your screen. Then click “Share” and select the people who you want to see the survey once it has been completed (Form. This survey can now be filled out by all the people who you have selected. A great feature of Google forms is that could answer the survey and then see who has answered it along with providing a visual representation of what people thought about the survey as well:

Benefits of Integration of Google Forms and strava

This integration of Google forms and strava makes it easier for me to log my bike rides because I don’t have to do anything besides write down when I started riding and when I stopped riding. It also makes it much easier for me to analyze my biking activity because Google chart tells me where I rode the most, which route was the most traveled, and which route was not traveled much at all. By integrating Google forms and strava it makes it very easy for me to create a survey for people to fill out as well because everything is already made in Google forms so all I have to do is input how many miles/time they rode their bike, what kind of bike they rode, trails or roads, and how long they biked for. It makes it easy for me to see where they biked the most too because Google charts shows me where certain people biked the most and where certain people didn’t bike at all. It may be beneficial for some people because if they already have strava downloaded on their phones it makes it easier for them to log their activities than having to write everything down manually on paper which becomes very time consuming and tedious without any set guidelines on how they should log their activity. Integrating Google forms and strava helps me keep track of how many miles/time someone biked by using Google charts which shows me where they biked and how much time they spent biking. It also gives me a visual representation of what people think about biking as a whpe using star ratings (which means they either loved it or hated it. and comment boxes where they can leave comments about their experience riding a bike. Overall integrating Google forms and strava is important because it helps me retrieve data much easier than logging everything down manually onto paper which can become tiresome if someone does not know what they are doing when logging there activity onto paper. It also helps me get a visual representation of what people think about biking in general with star ratings which could help me figure out what routes are more popular than others so that I could use those routes more often in order to keep my feet moving.
