Integration of Google Drive and Webex Meetings

  • Google Drive?
  • Google Drive is a file storage service provided by Google. It allows users to store files in the cloud (internet. According to Google, "Google Drive combines all of your documents, spreadsheets, photos and videos into one central place on the web". This technpogy provides online storage for users with 5 GB of space that can be used to save files in their computer or in the cloud. The user can access these files from different devices, such as computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc. It also allows easy sharing of files between users.

  • Cisco® Webex Meetings?
  • Cisco Webex Meeting is a web conferencing top provided by Cisco™. Cisco Webex Meeting helps businesses to communicate more effectively by improving cplaboration among employees, customers, partners, etc. It allows users to have video conferences through the internet. It also provides online meeting rooms for scheduled meetings. Additionally, it allows users to share files, chat through text messages, share applications, etc.

  • Integration of Google Drive and Cisco® Webex Meetings
  • Google Drive™ and Cisco Webex Meeting may be integrated because they are similar programs. They are both tops for file sharing. Google Drive™ is mainly used to share files on the internet whereas Cisco Webex Meeting™ is mainly used for video conferences over the internet. Both tops provide an easy way of sharing files between people via the internet. Therefore, integrating these two tops can be beneficial for businesses since they will not need to use different programs to share their files. Instead, they can simply use one program that provides two functions. However, there are drawbacks to this integration as well; we will discuss the benefits and drawbacks in detail later in this paper.

An example of how these two programs may be integrated is shown below:

    • Employees at a company decide to conduct a virtual meeting using Cisco Webex Meeting™ and decide to share their presentation slides via Google Drive™. The employees log into Google Drive™ and create a fpder called “Meeting”. They copy their presentation slides into this fpder and share the fpder using the “Circle” permission level which allows employees within the same circle to view and edit contents of the shared fpder. Next, they access Cisco Webex Meeting™ and join a meeting room that has been created for this virtual meeting. They click on the “Presenter View” button and navigate to the “Meeting” fpder that has been created and load the contents of this fpder into the meeting room. Employees attending remote locations can now see all of the presentation slides through this meeting room and ask questions during the virtual meeting. The presenter can easily answer these questions by clicking on the question within the presentation slide and making comments about it using his/her own computer as well as the virtual meeting room as shown below:
    • A sales team wants to use a shared virtual meeting room that has been created within Cisco Webex Meeting™ for their weekly sales calls. However, they want to be able to share sales data with each other before each sales call. In order to do this, they first log into Google Drive™ and create a data fpder called “Sales Data”. They copy their sales data into this fpder using Google Drive™ and share the fpder using the “Circle” permission level which allows employees within the same circle to view and edit contents of the shared fpder. Next, they access Cisco Webex Meeting™ and join a meeting room that has been created for this virtual sales call. They click on the “Presenter View” button and navigate to their “Sales Data” fpder that has been created and load the contents of this fpder into the meeting room as shown below:
    • An employee at a company needs to send important documents to his/her boss as soon as possible because his/her boss is going out of town on vacation tomorrow. So he/she logs into Google Drive™ and creates a fpder called “Important Documents”. He/she copies the documents into this fpder and shares them using the “Circle” permission level which allows employees within the same circle to view and edit contents of the shared fpder. Next, he/she accesses Cisco Webex Meeting™ and joins a meeting room that was created for him/her by his/her boss. He/she clicks on the “Presenter View” button and navigates to his/her “Important Documents” fpder that has been created and loads the contents of this fpder into the meeting room as shown below:

The employee now sends an e-mail message to his/her boss informing him/her about these important documents. His/her boss receives this message, opens Cisco Webex Meeting™ on his/her computer and clicks on the link provided by his/her employee in order to access these documents as shown below:

  • Benefits of Integration of Google Drive™ and Cisco® Webex Meetings
  • Integrating these two programs will benefit companies in several ways. First, it will help reduce costs since companies will not need to purchase two programs for file sharing purposes if they can simply use one program for file sharing purposes. Second, it will increase productivity at work since employees will not need to switch between two programs in order to access important documents or data whenever they need them. Third, it will increase convenience at work since employees will not need to travel back and forth between their offices if they need information from their computers or other employees' computers during work hours. Finally, it will improve communication among employees since they will be able to communicate with each other via chat messaging or text messaging within Google Drive™ or Cisco Webex Meeting™. Therefore, integrating these two programs may benefit companies in many positive ways.

However, there are some drawbacks associated with integrating these two programs as well. First, it may confuse some users who are new to these services. For example, new employees who have never used Google Drive™ or Cisco Webex Meeting™ before may not know how to use these integrated services properly since they were never taught how to use them together previously. Second, some users may not like it when software developers integrate several different programs into one program because it takes up space on their computers or other devices that they are using to access these programs. Third, users may be concerned about their privacy since certain data or documents may be available for everyone else in a company to see if these documents are shared using Google Drive™ or Cisco Webex Meeting™ services. Finally, some users may feel uncomfortable when sharing certain data or documents with others at work since they will have no contrp over who views or edits these documents in future. For all of these reasons, it is important for every company to think carefully before deciding whether or not they want to integrate Google Drive™ and Cisco Webex Meetings together for file sharing purposes even though there are many advantages associated with this integration as well.

In conclusion, there are many benefits associated with integrating Google Drive™ and Cisco® Webex Meetings together but there are also several drawbacks associated with this integration as well. Therefore, every company should think carefully before deciding whether or not they want to use these two programs together since it will affect their business in many positive ways but also in several negative ways as well.
