Integration of Google Docs and SugarCRM complements each other by incorporating cplaborative editing of documents with the CRM. Though there are many ways to integrate two applications, I have chosen to integrate them by using the Google Data Services applications programming interface (API. The Google Data Services API allows you to access your Google Drive data programmatically via Google Apps Script.
I have created code that will automatically save a Microsoft Word document to my Google Drive whenever I edit it in my computer’s Google Docs application. Likewise, when I edit a SugarCRM record, I will automatically save it in Google Docs. I will then set up a scheduled task to periodically synchronize the contents of my SugarCRM database with my Google Drive. This way, all updates will automatically appear in the document I saved in my Google Drive.
The integration of Google Docs and SugarCRM gives both applications more flexibility and power. For example, if you want to make a change to a field in SugarCRM, you do not need to go back and forth between the two applications; instead, you can make the change directly in your Google Docs file.
