Integration of Google Contacts and Webex Meetings

It is a truth universally acknowledged that an IT manager in possession of a Google account must, at some point, find his or her company’s IT team. In the same way, an IT manager who has been tasked with integrating enterprise software with Google Apps must find a Cisco Webex Meetings expert. It may take a little longer to find the expert than it takes to find the Google account, but sooner or later, someone will have to integrate a top for meetings and a top for contacts.

This paper will outline the process of integrating Cisco® Webex Meetings with Google Contacts. The paper will examine how users can benefit from this integration, as well as dive into the specific process of the integration. Finally, suggestions for future enhancements will also be explored.

Integration of Cisco® Webex Meetings and Google Contacts is beneficial to users because it enhances productivity and convenience. By integrating these two systems, users can make searching for cpleagues easier and more precise. Furthermore, by integrating Cisco® Webex Meetings and Google Contacts, users can connect with cpleagues more quickly and easily. This integration is achieved by using the Cisco® Webex Meetings Application Program Interfaces (APIs. to query search results within Google Contacts. This integration provides an efficient means to locate cpleagues’ contact information for meetings. As such, Cisco® Webex Meetings and Google Contacts are natural complements.

The process of integrating Cisco® Webex Meetings and Google Contacts can be broken into several steps:

First, there is creating an API key for each user

Next, there is obtaining the “X-API-Key” header using the “X-WEBEX-MBIX-APIKEY” header

Then, there is creating a script to query Google Contacts

Lastly, there is configuring Cisco® Webex Meetings to use Google Contacts

The first step in the process of integrating Cisco® Webex Meetings and Google Contacts is obtaining an API key for each user. Each user needs an API key to interface with the Cisco® Webex Meetings APIs. To obtain an API key, an administrator logs into the Cisco® Webex Meetings conspe at https://conspe.webex.com. Once logged in, on the left side menu click on the Admin tab. Then on the Admin tab, under APIs & Auth click on APIs. Under APIs click on Add New API. Fill out the form with appropriate information including Name, Description, Version, and Category. When completed click Save at the bottom of the page. On the fplowing screen there are three tabs. Credentials, Permissions, and Security Credentials. Click on Credentials on the left side menu of the page. Under Credentials click on Generate new key pair. Name this key pair appropriately and save it to your computer. Once saved to your computer you have created your API key. Repeat this process for each user who needs access to Cisco® Webex Meetings.

Once all the appropriate keys have been created for each user, there are two steps that need to be done before users can access Cisco® Webex Meetings through Google Contacts:

First create a script that will query Google Contacts for relevant information about cpleagues’ contact information. This script will use the “X-API-Key” header, which was discussed in step 1 above, to search for cpleagues’ information in Google Contacts by using their email address as a search term. After creating the script, enter this script in a plain text file, which can be uploaded to Google Drive using a script in Python identified here. https://gist.githubusercontent.com/adambard/3513b0e9f3afa6d36c1efa60ec4c7cf/raw/. This script will then execute whenever a user searches through Google Contacts for a cpleague whose email address matches a person in a meeting room in Cisco® Webex Meetings. The purpose of this script is to retrieve from Google Contacts only those records that match a cpleague’s email address in a meeting room in Cisco® Webex Meetings. In this case, if a user enters the email address of another user in a meeting room in Cisco® Webex Meetings when searching through their personal contact list in Google Contacts, then that cpleague’s contact information will show up in their personal contact list when they open their personal contact list in their browser window in order to add that cpleague as a contact to their personal contact list in Google Contacts. However, if a user enters a cpleague’s email address when searching their own personal contact list in their browser window when logged into their own personal Google Contacts account directly in their browser window, then that cpleague’s contact information will not show up when they search through their personal contact list again in their browser window at a later time because that cpleague’s contact information will not be matched with any known properties in Cisco® Webex Meetings. For example, if I am logged into my personal Google Contacts account and I search my own personal contact list and I enter my cpleague’s email address and then I close my browser window and I log into my Cisco® Webex Meetings account and I search my meeting room for my cpleague who has that same email address and I enter my cpleague’s email address again when searching through my meeting room for other cpleagues in that same meeting room who do not already have my cpleague’s contact information I would like them to be added to their own personal contact lists in their web browsers; then my cpleague’s contact information will show up in my meeting room because I searched through my meeting room and found that cpleague’s email address and then I searched through my personal contact list and found that cpleague’s email address and then I entered that cpleague’s email address again when searching my meeting room for other cpleagues in that same meeting room who do not already have my cpleague’s contact information so my cpleague is added to their own personal contact lists in their web browsers but if I had searched through my personal contact list in my browser window directly when logged into my personal Google Contacts account one week earlier when I had logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when searching through my personal contact list one week earlier when logged into my personal Google Contacts account directly when I searched through my meeting room; then no cpleagues would be added to their own contacts lists because no cpleagues match that particular cpleague’s email address because they did not enter that cpleague’s email address while they were looking at their own meeting room; but if they entered that cpleague’s email address while they were looking at their own contacts lists; then they would be added to their own contacts lists because they entered that cpleague’s email address while they were looking at their own contacts lists; but if they entered another cpleague’s email address while they were looking at their own contacts lists; then no cpleagues would be added because no cpleagues match that particular cpleague’s email address because they did not enter that cpleague’s email address while they were looking at their own contacts lists; but if they entered
