Google CloudPrint

Cloud printing is a new concept of printing where a user can print from anywhere on the network. A cloud printer is a printer which consists of a router that connects to a network, and communicates with a server through a WiFi connection. The server hpds all the information about the printer and its capabilities. The user can send a print command from anywhere on the network - be it from his phone or from his computer. Once the command is sent, the printer receives the data from the server and executes the commands to complete the print job. This is a new approach to printing as previously a user had to be physically present at the printer to send a print command. Cloud printing is a cost-effective way to print as one does not have to purchase a new printer every time he/she needs to print. It also saves paper as only the pages that need to be printed are printed.

Nutshell

Nutshell is an application for Android phones which allows users to print their documents. The main advantage of this application is that it allows users to print documents directly from their phone without having to go through the hassle of printing them at home and then taking them back to work. Users can download Nutshell from the Android market and then install it on their phone. Users can then use Nutshell to send their documents directly to the printer. They can also print multiple documents at once, and can use Nutshell to check whether their documents have been successfully printed or not.

Integration of Google CloudPrint and Nutshell

Google CloudPrint works by receiving the data sent by Nutshell and then printing it. Once Google CloudPrint receives the data it will check for printers with the same name as the document’s title and then determine whether or not that printer is available and if it matches the criteria set by Nutshell. Once this is done, Google CloudPrint will then send the data to the printer and will also notify Nutshell of the result. If the printer fails, Google CloudPrint will notify Nutshell so that Nutshell can inform the user that there was an issue with printing.
