Google CloudPrint is a free service that enables users to send print jobs directly to their printers from any web-connected device. It can be used with mobile devices, computers or networked printers. CloudPrint works by sending the print jobs to a cloud print server which then prints the documents at the printer. The service was created by Google in April 2010 and was introduced to the public by Google in May 2010. CloudPrint is currently available for all HP ePrint printers, networked printers connected through Google’s ChromeOS, Google Apps for Business and Education, Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Docs. CloudPrint is also supported by third party applications such as Mozilla Firefox, Picasa, Ubuntu One and Apple's iPhoto and Aperture.
Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2. is a web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. Amazon EC2’s simple web service interface allows developers to obtain and configure capacity with minimal friction. It provides programmatic access to a broad set of AWS features including compute, storage, networking and database services. Amazon EC2 reduces the time needed to obtain and boot new server instances to minutes, allowing developers to quickly scale capacity, both up and down, as application demand fluctuates.
Amazon EC2’s web service interface allows developers to launch an entire Amazon Machine Image (AMI. in one API call. Each Amazon EC2 instance provides users with generous amounts of bandwidth at low latency, making it ideal for many tasks invpving Internet-bound traffic.
