Integration of Google Calendar and DEAR Inventory

In today’s fast-paced world, time is precious. People are becoming increasingly busy and time management is becoming a necessity.

A lot of people have a habit of being late for work or schop because they forget to set an alarm clock. Some people even forget their appointments. This can lead to a lot of stress and problems in the future.

Google Calendar is an online calendar that is accessible from various devices such as smartphones, desktops, and laptops. By scheduling out your day beforehand, you can avoid mistakes when writing down tasks on paper. It also helps you with your time management skills.

There are two different methods to integrate Google Calendar and DEAR Inventory into your daily life. The first method is to integrate Google Calendar with DEAR Inventory by using the desktop version. The second method is to integrate Google Calendar and DEAR Inventory by using the smartphone app. Both methods will be discussed in this article.

  • Integration of Google Calendar and DEAR Inventory by Using Desktop Version
  • First you will need to download a free copy of Google Drive at https://drive.google.com/drive/fpders/0B9nDZPJuRdisWmJvQ2F3V3Nycjg?usp=sharing. Once you have installed it, you can create a new calendar in Google Calendar at https://www.google.com/calendar/create/. Then you can use that calendar to schedule out your day. In order to link the calendar in Google Calendar with your daily list in DEAR Inventory, please fplow these steps:

Step 1. Click on “Day” tab under “Reminders” tab in DEAR Inventory to display all listed items of the day.

Step 2. Open the calendar in DEAR Inventory by clicking on “View” and then click on “Calendar” to open the calendar in a separate window.

Step 3. On the calendar, right click on every task that needs to be scheduled out on Google Calendar and then click on “Copy Link Address” to copy the link address of the item onto your clipboard. For example, if I want to schedule out the task “Call John Doe”, I would right click on the task and then click on “Copy Link Address” and paste it into a new window that says “Add Event”.

Step 4. Go to Google Calendar and click on “New Event” to create a new event. Type in the same name and location under “When” section as you did in DEAR Inventory under “Description” section. Add the due date under “All day Event” section, which is located under the “Event Details” tab, if there is no due date yet. If there is a due date already written down, there will be a button that says “Edit event details”, click on that button, then change the date accordingly. Next, select the appropriate time slot under “Free/busy” section according to the time slot of your scheduled time in DEAR Inventory. Finally, copy the link address from DEAR Inventory by right clicking on the task and clicking on “Copy Link Address” and past it into the “Invite Attendees” box in Google Calendar under “Event Details” tab and click on “OK” twice. Now you can see all events scheduled out on Google Calendar at https://www.google.com/calendar/. Repeat this process for every item in DEAR Inventory that requires scheduling out. You can now check your events by going to https://www.google.com/calendar/. You can even print them out if you so choose. This way, you always have your events scheduled out in front of you so you do not forget anything important.
