GitLab is a web-based repository and version contrp system. It allows the user to create projects and then cplaborate on them with other users. It also comes with issue tracking, wikis, code review, CI, etc. (https://about.gitlab.com/)
Habitica is an online habit building top. Users can create their own quests and assign them points. They can also create obstacles for themselves to complete those quests and set rewards. The name of the app is Habitica. (https://habitica.com/about)
I would like to see GitLab support Habitica because I believe that it would be beneficial for both companies. GitLab could benefit by gaining a new type of user who uses another one of their products. Habitica could benefit in multiple ways. First, it would be able to grow its user base by making its application available to those using GitLab. It would also be able to gain new contributors to its application since it already has a contributor program in place. Thirdly, it could gain new users who are more interested in project management than they are in habit building. Finally, GitLab could offer integration with Habitica if it already has a feature similar to it. For example, it could have a wiki where users can write about their habits and what they do each day to improve them. This way, users don’t have to go back and forth between the two applications; they could just stay on one place.
I think there could be many benefits of integration of GitLab and Habitica. First, it would help the companies increase the variety of their users. Since both companies are based on software development, I think it would be beneficial if they were to integrate their programs to attract more users that use the other company’s product. Secondly, I think it would be beneficial for the users because they would be able to remain within the same interface while working on different tasks. This way, they will not need to switch from one interface to another just to complete different tasks. I also think it would be beneficial for the users because they will not have to wait for long periods of time before they can get started with their work. Finally, I think it would benefit the developers because they will have an easier time working together on their applications as compared to integrating without integration. As you can see, there are many benefits of integration of GitLab and Habitica but having them available in one interface would simply encourage more cplaboration with no obstacles or barriers in between.
