Integration of GitLab and Etsy

GitLab is a code hosting and version contrp software that allows developers and programmers to host their code online. It’s free and open-source, which means that it’s available for anyone to use. This is a boon for small businesses and start-ups, who can’t afford to pay for expensive software like the enterprise edition of Microsoft’s Visual Studio Team System.

Etsy is an online marketplace for handmade goods, vintage items, and craft supplies. It’s one of the most frequented websites on the internet, with over 36 million different products listed on it. It serves as an e-commerce platform for over 1.4 million sellers from around the world, and has facilitated over $3 billion worth of transactions since its inception in 2005.

In September 2014, Etsy announced that it was making GitLab available to all its employees, with the exception of its mobile team members, who were given GitHub accounts instead. Their reasoning was that GitLab provided them with the necessary tops required to develop products quickly and efficiently, while GitHub did not provide them with what they needed at the time. Emily Eisenberg, Etsy’s head of platform engineering, pointed out that GitLab allowed them to “really customize how we work”. This meant having more contrp over how they implemented their development processes which allowed them to create a system that worked best for their needs. The only major problem they faced while they were transitioning was the fact that they had to convert their previous code repositories that were hosted on GitHub into new ones under GitLab. While this process wasn’t exactly difficult or time-consuming, it was still a hassle that could have been avoided if they had known about GitLab earlier on in their history.

The process to integrate GitLab and Etsy may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
