On April 20th 2018, Freshsales announced about acquiring Canny for the amount of $80Million. This acquisition spved the problem of Freshsales which was losing its market share due to its expensive pricing. On the other hand, it helped Canny in increasing its customer base by adding more features to Canny’s offering. In this integration, Canny’s co-founder has joined Freshsales as Chief Product Officer and he will be responsible for developing all the new product lines at Freshsales. In the integration announcement, Rohan Taneja said “We have been looking forward to joining forces with Freshsales since we first met the company last year. We are incredibly excited to join with them in the next chapter of our growth story and continue to offer our customers best-in-class sputions for their customer success needs”.

  • Reduced Cost. After integrating both the companies, Freshsales can now save money on the salaries of two CEOs (Rohan Taneja and Amit Gupta. It will also save money on development costs as Freshsales already had all the Canny’s products integrated in it and there was no need to build all those products again as they already existed. Yet, there is another advantage of having a CEO who knows both the companies inside out and can handle both the companies equally well.
