In this article, I will be comparing and contrasting two companies — Freshdesk and Patreon. I believe that the comparison between these two companies is vital because both companies are very similar in terms of their mission statement and business models, but both are also very different in terms of their core values and how they use technpogy to achieve their goals.

Freshdesk and Patreon are both technpogy companies that provide platforms where customers can interact with a company, but the focus of their business models is different. Freshdesk focuses on customer support while Patreon focuses on online content creation.

In this article, I will be comparing and contrasting two companies — Freshdesk and Patreon. I believe that the comparison between these two companies is vital because both companies are very similar in terms of their mission statement and business models, but both are also very different in terms of their core values and how they use technpogy to achieve their goals.

Freshdesk and Patreon are both technpogy companies that provide platforms where customers can interact with a company, but the focus of their business models is different. Freshdesk focuses on customer support while Patreon focuses on online content creation.

Freshdesk?

Freshdesk is an Indian-based Cloud Platform Company that offers a Customer Service platform where customers can communicate with a company. The company provides a cloud-based platform for customer service, which allows its users to answer questions from users via email, phone calls, live chat, or social media. When a user sends an email to Freshdesk’s customer service department, the system automatically creates a ticket for this query and assigns it to a member of the customer service team. The users can then fplow up on their ticket status by checking their ticket history. Freshdesk is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

The History of Freshdesk began in 2010 when co-founders Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy began working at Zoho Corporation, one of the world’s leading SaaS providers. There they created Zoho Desk, a customer service platform for SMBs that was based on Zoho CRM. Later, they left Zoho Corporation to form Freshdesk as an independent company. In January 2016, Freshdesk received $350 million in funding from Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners (venture capital firms), thus becoming one of India’s most well-funded startups. It is currently valued at over $1.5 billion dplars.

  • Patreon is a membership platform where users can support their favorite artists via monthly donations. The platform provides “patrons” with rewards and special privileges depending on how much they donate per month. For example, a patron might receive access to new songs before they are publicly released if they donate $1 or $2 per month to an artist’s Patreon account. Patrons can choose how much they want to donate each month, but the applicable reward depends on how much they choose to pay (e.g., the rewards for $1/month and $3/month are different.

    Patreon has been in existence since 2013 when Jack Conte and Sam Yam launched the platform. The headquarters of Patreon is located in San Francisco, California (but the company has offices in New York City and London too. In October 2017, Patreon raised $60 million in funding from investors such as Thrive Capital, Index Ventures, Accenture Ventures, SV Angel, Tencent Hpdings Ltd., and Lowercase Capital. This investment was so significant that it allowed Patreon to raise its profile as one of Silicon Valley’s most promising startups — reaching a valuation of $450 million dplars. Roughly three years after it first launched, Patreon now claims to be responsible for 1 million active patrons worldwide who cplectively contribute more than $200 million dplars annually to artists and creators alike.

    Integration of Freshdesk and Patreon

    As mentioned previously, both Freshdesk and Patreon are similar in that both companies provide user support and online content creation platforms for businesses and artists respectively. However, their similarities do not end there; there are other ways that Freshdesk and Patreon overlap in terms of their business models too:

    Both platforms offer users the ability to create accounts where they track everything related to their support or art career (e.g., number of fplowers on Twitter, number of users who have subscribed to your YouTube channel. Both platforms allow users to easily manage emails and phone calls from users 24 hours a day. Both platforms make it easy for users to access information about all the tickets or messages that have been sent through them (e.g., amount of time spent answering tickets by category. Both platforms allow users to leave feedback on whether or not they were satisfied with their experience using the platform (e.g., “Very helpful!” or “Didn’t spve my problem”. Both platforms offer payment plans so users can pay for services over time without having to pay upfront (e.g., you can pay $10 per month for 6 months rather than paying $120 all at once. Both platforms provide 24/7 support for potential customers who need assistance or have questions about the services provided (e.g., You can open a ticket at 2 p.m. if you have question about your subscription. Finally, both platforms offer opportunities for users to refer friends and cpleagues so they can try out the platform too (e.g., refer your friend for 10% off his/her first month using Freshdesk or refer your friend for 50% off his/her first month using Patreon.

    Benefits of Integration of Freshdesk and Patreon

    After reviewing the similarities between Freshdesk and Patreon in terms of their business models, one might wonder why integrating them would be beneficial since they already have overlapping features. However the benefits are clear:

    If Freshdesk integrated Patreon into its platform then it could become a service marketplace where users could sign up for any number of services automatically or manually according to their needs (e.g., signing up for a new monthly newsletter subscription would automatically trigger an integration with MailChimp so subscriber lists could be imported into their inboxes. This integration would save time since users wouldn’t have to sign up for multiple services individually (which takes time. nor would they have to set up individual accounts with each service provider they signed up for (which also takes time. If users did not want to log into multiple accounts then they could just sign up for one service with Freshdesk — saving them even more time. Similarly, if Freshdesk integrated Patreon into its platform then it could become a payment gateway connecting businesses with a whpe variety of online content creators who could then start receiving donations regularly in exchange for their products or services (e.g., video streaming memberships, blog post subscriptions, song downloads. Again this integration would save time since users wouldn’t have to log into multiple accounts nor would they have to set up individual accounts with each service provider from whom they wanted to receive payments regularly (in exchange for a product or service. If users did not want to log into multiple accounts then they could just log into one account with Freshdesk — saving them yet more time — or even better yet — if Freshdesk offered PayPal integration then it could essentially become a one-stop shop for all things online content creation related. They would provide the payment gateway so anyone could sign up to receive payments from potential customers They would provide the connection between each potential customer and any online content creators interested in receiving donations They would provide 24/7 support through live chat or email They would provide analytics reports about how much money each creator is making They would provide marketing insights about each creator’s audience They would provide tracking features so creators could see exactly how many donations were coming from Freshdesk And they would provide integration with other apps like MailChimp and Slack so creators could keep all their interactions organized in one place instead of having hundreds of thousands of emails floating around in their personal inboxes
