Freshdesk and Mention Integration
One of the most interesting features of Freshdesk is its ability to integrate with other 3rd party apps. Its integration capabilities are one of the most powerful aspects of Freshdesk. It can be integrated with any other applications or services including MongoDB, SugarCRM, Marketo, Salesforce, Hubspot, Zendesk, Google Analytics, Google Apps, GoDaddy, etc.
Freshdesk also integrates with Zendesk. One can quickly connect both the tops and start using it for better engagement with customers and team members. It has the ability to import tickets from Zendesk (not vice versa though.

Freshdesk has been built on the philosophy of “[email protected]”. The philosophy aims at providing an extremely easy-to-use interface that allows users to connect Freshdesk with other 3 rd party apps using very little code. Freshdesk’s well-documented API allows developers to integrate the top with just a few clicks.
The Freshdesk integration with Mention is mainly done via Zapier. This integration is not only powerful but also extremely easy. Mention creates an IFTTT channel for every user account and provides a Zapier link for each account. All you need to do is just go to http://www.zapier.com/ifttt/app/freshdesk and enter the link in the form provided on the site. Once this setup is done you will have access to Mention in your inbox menu of Freshdesk.
Once you are logged into Mention you will see a fpder named “Freshdesk” under Settings > Integrations > Social Media Monitoring & Management > Channels. Click on it and you will get details regarding the integration such as what kind of data can be tracked from Mention to Freshdesk and vice versa. You will find details about the applets and triggers in this section as well.
On clicking “Create Applet” you will be redirected to Mention’s applet creation page where you will be required to enter information such as what kind of data needs to be tracked from Mention to Freshdesk or vice versa and what kind of triggers should be used for the same purpose. You can either use Mention’s default triggers or create new ones for triggering specific actions on both sides. Once this setup is done you will be ready to track activity related to your brand on Mention from within your Freshdesk dashboard. Apart from tracking mentions from any public accounts you can also track mentions from private accounts by using the email trigger option available in Mention’s applet creation page. If you want to track mentions from multiple sources then you can use multiple triggers for it. You can track mentions from Facebook comments, Twitter accounts, Google+ posts and YouTube videos all from within your Freshdesk dashboard. You can even use triggers such as time triggers for tracking mentions at specified times/days/weeks/months and year-based triggers as well for tracking mentions throughout the year. The applet created using these triggers will send data such as source, username (if available), link (if available), content (if available. etc., from Mention to Freshdesk in real time. You can also send data such as tags, URLs, comments and replies from Mention to Freshdesk via applets created using triggers such as “Comments Added” and “Replies Added” respectively. The applets created using these triggers will send data such as name of user who added comment or reply etc., from Mention to Freshdesk in real time. In case you want to track any activity such as likes, retweets etc., from Twitter then you can use the “@mention + Tweet Text” trigger option provided by Mention for creating an applet that can be used for tracking data such as username(s), user profile picture(s), tweet text etc., from Twitter to Freshdesk in real time. It is worth mentioning here that when you add a trigger in an applet created by Mention it won’t show up in Freshdesk automatically; it will only appear when you click on “Update Applet” button after entering required information while creating an applet in Mention.
