Flipkart is a Bengaluru-based e-commerce company. It was founded by two former Amazon employees, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal in 2007. Its main business is online retailing. In May 2018, the company launched a new private label ‘Truebil’ for automobiles, under which the company sells certified pre-owned vehicles. In June 2018, Flipkart announced the launch of its office in Madrid, Spain. As part of the launch of its office in Spain, the company appointed Lluis Ruiz Sacristán as Country Manager for Spain and Portugal. The opening of its office in Madrid also marked the launch of its office in Europe. In August 2018, Flipkart launched ‘FitPass’ in partnership with fitness chain ‘Fitness First’. Under this offer, customers can buy 10-visits pass at ₹199 per month to all Fitness First outlets across Delhi/NCR. In September 2018, Flipkart launched a new office in Moscow, Russia. In October 2018, Flipkart announced that it will be investing an additional ₹1 billion (US$14 million. in its logistics arm EKart Logistics Limited.[91] This would take its total investment in EKart to over ₹13 billion (US$182 million. since 2015.[92] In December 2018, Flipkart acquired an artificial intelligence (AI)-based personal assistant startup Liv.ai for an undisclosed amount.[93] Liv.ai was founded by former Apple employee Tarun Jain and his friend Ankit Bhati in 2017. In December 2018, it was reported that Flipkart plans to invest ₹5 billion (US$73 million. towards expansion of its logistics business over the next few years.[94][95]
