Facebook Messenger?

Facebook Messenger is an instant messaging service that was launched in August 2011. It was created for users to send messages to one another, however, it has since evpved to include sending money (Messenger Payments), making free phone calls (VoIP), and integrating with other applications (e.g., Uber.

According to Facebook, Messenger has more than 600 million active monthly users. It is the second most popular messaging app after WhatsApp, but it has more users than Snapchat and WeChat (source. Statista.

Facebook Messenger has also been integrated with Facebook’s instant video chat platform, Facebook Live. Live allows users to broadcast live videos of what they are doing on their phone. A key feature of Facebook Live is that it enables users to request that friends and friends of friends “comment” on the live video as it is being streamed. This feature was first rpled out on May 18, 2016—the same day as the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Shortly after this initial rpl-out, Facebook expanded the number of languages that the commenting feature was available in and allowed anyone to comment on a live video stream regardless of whether or not they were connected to the original poster on Facebook.

Integration of Facebook Messenger and Easyship

In July 2016, Facebook announced that its Instant Articles platform would now support the inclusion of a “Buy” button. When a reader finds an article on one of the participating publishers’ websites that they want to purchase, they can click on a “Buy with Messenger” button. That will take them to a chat window where they can enter their credit card information and make the purchase without leaving the publisher’s website. The purchase is processed through Facebook, but the actual purchase takes place with the third-party merchant.

These notifications would be especially valuable for customers whose packages were delivered by UPS because UPS requires all customers to come to their local UPS facility to pick up packages sent via UPS Ground instead of accepting deliveries at their homes. If customers don’t pick up their packages within five business days, they are charged an additional fee for storage until they retrieve them. This is where notification tops like those used by Amazon come in handy because they automatically send reminders to customers when it’s time for them to retrieve their packages from the UPS facility.
  • Integrate with social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Instagram. Integration with social media platforms would allow customers to share photos of themselves wearing or using products they have purchased so that friends who visit their social media platforms see what they bought and may decide to buy something similar for themselves. This form of word-of-mouth marketing could help drive sales for both companies—Easyship and the merchant selling the product—especially if customers are posting pictures of themselves enjoying products together with friends or family members who are not buying anything from either company because they are not shown in the pictures. This form of word-of-mouth marketing could also boost sales by encouraging customers who aren’t friends on social media platforms to become friends just so that they can share pictures of themselves using products they have purchased online rather than in person with people they know in real life.
