  • Integration of Facebook Lead Ads and Shippo:
  • Facebook lead ads works well with Shippo as they allow you to gather more information about your customers. It allows you to get an insight of their purchase behavior and ship them their products fast. Moreover, as they work on different platforms, it makes the entire process of integration easier. You can integrate Facebook lead ads with Shippo through an SDK or API integration. Here are the steps to integrating Facebook lead ads with Shippo:

Step 1. Create a Facebook page app in Facebook developer portal. Add the URL of your website and assign an app name to it. Then click on “Create app” button. This will generate a new page app with the app ID.

Step 2. Go back to the Facebook developer portal and click on “Add Product” button. Enter the product name, description and category of your product. Click on “Save Changes” button when you are done. This will create a new product in your account. Now you can select your newly created product under your “Products” tab in the left sidebar. Then select “Create a Postback URL” from the dropdown menu next to your product name. Once you have selected it, enter the postback URL of your website (this should be identical to your website URL. and click on “Save Changes” button to save the changes made. This step is very important as it tells Facebook that your website will act as a postback URL for this particular product and will receive data from it once someone makes a purchase using the product link shared on Facebook lead ads. That being said, don’t forget to add the postback URL in your website too so that you can receive the data sent by Facebook and use it for further analysis. Another thing to keep in mind is that you should choose only one website as a postback URL for each product. If you want to send data from more than one website, then you can create multiple products instead of assigning multiple websites as a postback URL for each product. Also, if you want to create a new product having the same postback URL as an existing product, then make sure that you have selected “Use this postback URL for all products” when creating the new product else Facebook will not accept it as a valid postback URL. In such case, simply change the product category of your existing product and then select “Use this postback URL for all products” option while creating your new product with the same postback URL.

Step 3. Next, go back to the developer portal and click on “Product Catalog Settings” under the “Settings” tab in the left sidebar. On the next page, click on “Manage Product Catalog” located at the bottom of the page. Select your new product from the list and click on “Manage Settings” button located at the top right corner of the page (next to “View Product Catalog Settings” button. A new window will open where you need to enter your prices in USD (or local currency. under “Shipping Prices” section. Once you have entered price details, click on “Save Changes” button located at the top right corner of this page to save them. Your pricing details will now appear in the pricing cpumn next to your product name in your product catalog page. Next, go back to your developer portal again and click on “Shipping Methods” under “Shipping & Delivery” tab in left sidebar. Select “Create Shipping Method” button located at the top left corner of this page and enter name of your shipping method under “Name” field. Then select shipping type and rate calculation type under “Shipping Type” and “Rate Calculation Type” fields respectively based on your requirement. After entering these details, click on save changes button located at top right corner of this page to save your shipping method details. Finally, go back to “Shipping Methods” section again and select your newly created shipping method from the list of existing shipping methods under “Shipping Methods” section. Click on “Select Default Shipping Method for New Orders” under Product Catalog Settings menu located at top right corner of this page and choose an option between “Auto Select Shipping Method at Checkout” or “Always Use Default Shipping Method for New Orders” as per your requirement. If you have chosen auto select shipping method then you can enable or disable it from dropdown menu located next to this option in this section. If you have chosen always use default shipping method option then you can select which shipping method should be used by default by clicking on checkbox next to each shipping method name under Default Shipping Method section in this section. Once done, click on save changes button located at top right corner of this page to save all changes made above. Now, we need to create a new page where our visitors will land once they place an order from Facebook lead ads using our custom landing page URL and then redirect them to our order confirmation page once they complete their order from there after paying for it using PayPal or any other payment gateway supported by Shippo.
