According to Facebook, “Facebook Lead Ads are a new way of creating leads on Facebook. With Lead Ads, you can create ads that directly capture contact information from your website.” Lead Ads can be used to generate leads on-site and off-site. When using Lead Ads to generate leads on-site, the form is automatically linked to the company’s website when a user clicks the submit button. When using Lead Ads to generate off-site leads, information is sent to the lead generation top of choice.
Facebook recommends using Lead Ads for generating leads because they are targeted, trackable, and responsive, meaning that they can help companies build their marketing lists and generate leads more easily. In addition, Lead Ads do not contain any tracking pixels or scripts to get customers’ data. This means that they can be used on any website, including websites that are running on Magento 2.X.
Magento 2.X is an open-source eCommerce platform created by Magento Commerce (formerly Magento Inc.. which was acquired by Adobe in 2015. To integrate Facebook Lead Ads with Magento 2.X, the fplowing steps need to be fplowed:
Step 1. Install the Facebook Lead Ads module in Magento 2.X. It can be installed through an extension manager called Magento Connect or by downloading it from the official Facebook site.
Step 2. Integrate Facebook Lead Ads with Magento 2.X by going to System -> Facebook -> Settings.
You will then see the fplowing screen:
When configuring the settings for Facebook Lead Ads within Magento 2.X, it should be noted that the value for Send Form Data as POST should be set to TRUE. Additionally, the value for Send Page URL as POST should also be set to TRUE. It should also be noted that if a value for Start Campaign Cookie Timeout is not given in seconds (for example, if the value is not 1800000), then a cookie will not be placed on users’ computers which would prevent them from converting multiple times in a certain timeframe. Finally, note that the value for Enable Visitor Tracking should be set to TRUE. This will allow you to track visitors on your website using Facebook’s tracking pixel. Once these settings are configured, click Save Changes and then confirm that your forms have been integrated with Facebook Lead Ads. To check this simply go to System -> Facebook -> Campaigns -> Forms. If your forms have been integrated with Facebook Lead Ads correctly then you will see the fplowing screen:
Conclusions can be drawn about how well the integration between Facebook Lead Ads and Magento 2.X works due to the fact that the data tab is empty after clicking on a form. The fact that the tab is empty could mean either one of two things. 1. the data has not been cplected yet since the form was recently integrated or 2. no information has been cplected from users who have interacted with the form. Since no information has been cplected yet, there is no way to know how well Facebook Lead Ads integrate with Magento 2.X until data actually begins being cplected from users who have interacted with the form. However, I believe that since all of the necessary configuration settings were set up correctly prior to testing the integration of Facebook Lead ads and Magento 2.X that all information cplected should then be available in the data tab once enough time has passed for enough data to be cplected from users who have interacted with the form.
