Facebook Groups is a part of Facebook feature launched on August 16, 2010. It allows Facebook users to form groups to discuss different topics and share content with each other. In this way, we are able to communicate with people who have similar interests in various fields. According to the statistics from Pagely, about 83 million people use Facebook in groups, which accounts for more than half of Facebook’s total user (Pagely, n.d.. Meanwhile, Tableau has been known as a data visualization software that helps us analyze data quickly and easily. In this article, I will compare the two software in terms of integration, benefits, and future application.
Tableau’s community has been increasing rapidly as it provides a fast, easy, intuitive and interactive way to present data. With a variety of functions and features, Tableau offers an effective way to visualize data. To integrate with Facebook Groups, Tableau developed a new feature called “Group Analytics”. According to the website Datafloq, Group Analytics helps group members work together and better understand how their group is growing by providing information about the group’s demographics, growth rate and the level of engagement (Datafloq, 2016. The integration of Group Analytics with Facebook Groups can help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of group activities. For example, the leaders can evaluate the performance of each member in order to better organize the group. As a result, members can get more detailed information from the leader about their performance as well as the progress of the group. Besides helping the leaders of the group to monitor their members’ performances, it also helps users to understand the culture of different groups. When a user joins a group, they will have a clear idea what kind of discussions are going on in that particular group.
Tableau’s integration with Facebook Groups can help support group communications. It can be used as an online platform to communicate with different groups with different areas or topics. Not only can people communicate with friends but also with those whose interests are shared. With this platform, people can easily find out people with similar interests and communicate with them. Moreover, it can also be used as a virtual meeting room where people can gather at any time and place to discuss common interests. Therefore, if someone wants to gather some people to discuss something urgently or meet someone new with similar interests, he/she may not have to go anywhere because he/she can simply log into this virtual meeting room and start communicating with other people. Furthermore, if some people want to create a new group or join a certain group which they are interested in but they do not know how to do so, they can refer to the original creator of the group with the same interests through this platform. As a result, communication between different groups becomes easier and smoother as well as it helps form new relationships between people who are interested in different things.
In conclusion, Tableau’s integration with Facebook Groups has some benefits such as improving the efficiency of communication between different groups by sharing similar interests. Also, this integration makes communication between different groups easier and smoother as well as it helps establish new relationships between different groups of people who are interested in different things.
