Integration of Evernote and Twitter

  • Evernote is a free application used to take notes, create to-do lists, brainstorm ideas, save web pages, record voice memos as well as sync data across all your devices. It can be accessed from PC, Mac, mobile phones and tablets. It provides you with a digital notebook that you can use to plan projects, make a to-do list, brainstorm ideas or even store meeting notes. It is accessible on any kind of device and it syncs automatically.
  • Twitter is a social networking site where users create posts called tweets. These tweets are limited to 140 characters but can include links to other sites. Users can fplow people they find interesting and get updates when they post a new message. Twitter is also integrated with Facebook and you can “fplow” your Facebook friends on Twitter. You can add hashtags to your tweets so that people searching for specific topics will find them easily.
  • Integration of Evernote and Twitter

    • Evernote has its own online community of users sharing tips, tricks and best practices. If you have an idea yourself, you can easily share it by writing about it in one of your notebooks and then posting the link to that notebook on Twitter. This way, your fplowers will see it immediately.
    • Evernote has built-in Twitter functionality that allows you to tweet directly from Evernote. Simply copy the text you want to tweet and paste it into Evernote and a tweet will automatically be created for you. You can also use tags to organize your notes properly.
    • On Twitter, you can tag a person using @’s in front of their name or company name, for example @evernote #AwesomeNotebook
    • You can also tag a company or product using a hashtag – just put the # sign in front of the word or phrase you want to tag. For example #mySuperAwesomeNotebook #twitter #Evernote
    • Automatic tagging makes it easier for people to find your content and learn more about your brand. Tweets containing hashtags are more likely to gain traction than those without them because they allow users to search for specific topics and find relevant posts quickly and easily. The easier it is for people to learn more about your brand or product, the better!
    • When you use tags in your tweets, they show up in your Evernote account as saved searches. This means that if someone tags your Evernote account in their tweet, all of the content related to that tag will be available to you in Evernote. You can read all of the tweets related to that tag, or click on the tag itself to see all of the tagged notebooks in Evernote. All of this activity shows up in your personal timeline and stream in the left hand cpumn of Evernote’s home screen. And guess what? It’s already there – all you have to do is click it!
    • Many people use hashtags to keep track of their favorite tweets and to participate in conversations around specific events or topics. For example, if a conference is taking place and there is a special hashtag designated for use during the conference, users can find out who else is at the conference by searching for the hashtag on Twitter or looking at the Tweets coming out of the event itself. If someone finds something interesting about one of the speakers at the conference, they can write about it in their own Twitter feed and then tag the speaker’s Twitter handle with the hashtag so others can find it easily. This way, everyone who is participating in the conversation about that topic is able to access the information gathered at the conference through their Twitter feeds!
    • Hashtags are also useful for fplowing live events such as sporting events or news broadcasts; for instance, if you want to fplow a live news broadcast on TV (something like breaking news. you can search for that hashtag on Twitter and get live updates about what is happening as it happens! You can also watch live streams from Periscope and Meerkat which have special hashtags associated with them; even if you aren’t attending the event yourself, you can still fplow along! The hashtag helps people fplowing the event stay up-to-date with what’s going on!
    • Using hashtags in your posts makes it easier for people searching for specific topics to fplow along with what you are doing online; it gives them easy access to your content without having to hunt around for it!
    • In addition to being able to tag other people, companies and products on Twitter, you can also use @replies on Evernote! If you see something interesting someone has written on Twitter, you should be able to reply directly to their post with an @reply in Evernote! Whenever someone starts a conversation in Evernote with an @reply, the other user receives an email notification informing them of this interaction!
    • If you don’t want anyone else replying to your notes, simply use @note instead of @notebookname as shown below:
    • To reply directly to someone using @replies on Evernote. first go to Evernote and tap + Notebook > New Note > Create Notebook > create a new note or choose an existing one > tap the “reply” icon next to the title and type in @notebookname/[name] or @notebookname/[name]@notebookname/[name]…etc (as many times as you want. Then type your comment or reply as shown below:
    • From here you can choose how you would like to share this note (to everyone, only people in this notebook or just selected people. by clicking on either “Share Note” or “Share Link” in the bottom right corner – whichever works best for you! You can then either share it as a direct link on Twitter or send it via DM (Direct Message. When sending a DM with Evernote it will generate a URL that automatically pulls up the note when clicked on! Make sure that you disable notifications if you don’t want anyone else seeing what you are tweeting! Also make sure that you tell them that they have to click on the link within Evernote instead of simply opening it via their browser! They will need a premium subscription account for this feature to work properly however!
    • Another option is adding “@notebookname/[notebook name]” at the end of any notebook name within an Evernote Post (instructions above. to create a link back to that specific notebook and save space when tweeting! For example. “I am working on my next project in my [Awesome Notebook] notebook in Evernote #AwesomeNotebook” – notice how we haven’t typed any more than we need to! Also notice how we added “#AwesomeNotebook” after our text because this particular note was written in our Awesome Notebook which has this particular hashtag associated with it! We are telling our fplowers directly which notebook we are referring to here! This will help our fplowers who might not know which notebook we are writing about get more context! We are also adding the hashtag directly before our text so that our fplowers will see this awesome note come up in their own timeline if they are looking specifically for new posts using this particular hashtag! It will appear as fplows:
