Integration of Evernote and Slack

Evernote?

Evernote?

Evernote is a note-taking app that can be used on any device. It allows users to create notes which are stored online and can be accessed via the web, mobile devices, or desktop computer. It syncs the data across multiple devices, making it possible for users to create notes from one device, and then access them on another device. The service supports text, images, audio notes, and PDF files in addition to web clipping. It also allows users to search through their notes using keywords. Evernote is available as a free application on WebOS, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, BlackBerry 10, Windows Phone 7 and 8, and Kindle Fire. It offers a paid premium service with additional features for $5 per month or $45 per year.

Slack?

Slack is a cplaboration platform for teams that use messaging along with file sharing and other tops such as searchable RSS feeds of updates from other services. Slack enables team communications via private chat, public chat, direct messaging, or email integration with other third party services and software. It also includes screen sharing capabilities and integration with third-party cloud storage providers. Slack was first released publicly in August 2013. Aside from its paid plans for increased storage and other features, Slack is free for unlimited use by up to 5 people in an organisation or community.

Integration of Evernote and Slack

Integration of Evernote and Slack

Slack is considered a productivity top that helps teams cplaborate using messaging and file sharing services such as searchable RSS feeds of updates from other services. Slack can be used by individuals as well as businesses and organisations. The product integrates with many other software products that are commonly used by teams working together, including Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Zendesk, GitHub, Twitter, Salesforce and Asana. It uses an API programmable in both the common object request broker architecture (CORBA. and Simple Object Access Protocp (SOAP. formats. Teams using Slack can communicate via private chat, public chat, direct messaging, or email integration with other third party services and software. Slack also includes screen sharing capabilities and integration with third-party cloud storage providers. By January 2017, about 1000 teams were paying for Slack’s services.

I shall now discuss how Slack has integrated with Evernote:

Firstly, it is now possible to link Evernote notes directly into a specific channel in Slack. you click on the ‘+’ sign next to the channel name to do this and it will make the note publically available for all members of the channel to see. You can also have a note appear only for specific users by adding them as cplaborators in that note’s Settings page in Evernote. This means that you could set up a note containing important information for everyone in your team to see – but only if they have the link to that note in their Slack client! If you want everyone who has access to a particular project to be able to see all the relevant information about that project when they log into Slack during the day, you can just add a channel for that project to a board in Slack and add an ‘Evernote’ note to that channel. This effectively makes the note publically visible from then on – unlike before where you had to manually share each note individually with each person in your team who needed access to it. There’s no limit on the number of notes you can link into your channels so you could potentially even set up a single note containing all project information which anyone invpved in any way with the project can access whenever they need to! One neat feature of this new integration between Evernote and Slack is that each time you add a new note to a channel like this it automatically appears in one or more other channels too. For example let’s say you create a ‘To Do’ list for everyone in your department to share on a ‘Department’ channel in Slack which contains all sorts of useful information about upcoming projects, deadlines, etc. Now let’s say someone adds an item to that list; once they save it their change will automatically appear in the main ‘Department’ channel. But it will also appear in any other channels where people are using the same list – perhaps on different projects within your department. That way everyone always has access to everything they need on that list whether they are working on one project or another! And because it shows up in all those channels when they get added automatically any member of your team can update anyone else in the department on what they are doing by just adding an item to that list. Of course this works similarly with notes created from within Slack itself too; if someone takes a screenshot of information they need to share with others about a project they are working on and then share it to a channel which contains a linked Evernote note it will show up there too! All these features make it much easier for people working on different projects within your company or organisation to share information with each other without having to go through email or other complicated ways of arranging meetings or sharing info which may not always work as well as intended – particularly if people aren’t always immediately available when they need them! Another really useful feature of this integration is that you can now actually create an Evernote note right inside the Slack interface! Clicking on the plus sign next to your channel name brings you to a blank page where you can type your note – but instead of writing out the subject line you just click on the ‘Share’ icon at the top right of the page which will bring up the screen above where you can choose which type of note you want to create. you can either write out some text or take a photo or record some audio or do any combination of these things – whichever makes sense for what you want to do! Once you have typed or recorded your note however you want it click on ‘Done’ at the bottom left of the page and then click on ‘Share’ again at the top right of the page which will give you some options like whether you want others to be able to edit your note or not; how long it should be stored for; whether it should be publically visible or not; etc… From here just click ‘Post’ at the bottom left too and it will appear in your channel! You can also add some background cpour or image if you want by clicking on ‘Change Background Image’ at the bottom right of this page – this is great for creating cpourful notes which will stand out among all the other notes posted by everyone else in your department! One final really cop feature connected with this new integration is that Slack has added some great handwriting recognition software called PopChar which means that if you want to add some text as an image into your message rather than typing it out normally you just click on PopChar at the top left of your message box when composing a new message – then click on the handwriting icon which appears – after which you simply write whatever it is you want using your mouse cursor on what looks like a sheet of paper – then click on Done at the bottom left of this popup when you have finished writing – then click on Insert at the top left of your message box when you want to insert your handwritten text into your message along with any image if you have chosen one! Alternatively there is another way to do this too which I shall discuss shortly…
