Evernote is a note-taking and archiving service that allows users to upload notes from their computer or mobile devices. HubSpot is an inbound marketing software that allows users to create short articles, track visitors, and send email campaigns. HubSpot recently integrated Evernote into its software as a way of encouraging digital marketing strategies. This integration has many benefits for both Evernote and Hubspot users.
Evernote and Hubspot are two cloud-based services that have been providing innovative sputions to personal and professional needs for years. For example, Evernote is a note-taking platform that allows users to write text, record audio, capture images, and organize notes on the go. The company was founded in 2007 by Stepan Pachikov in California. Back then, Pachikov had the idea of creating a “second brain” for himself, which would allow him to have all his ideas, thoughts, and notes at the tip of his fingers (Litman. The company’s main focus is on providing tops that enable companies “to build a relationship with customers” through content creation and distribution (Shah. In 2012, Hubspot raised $105 million in venture capital funding from General Catalyst Partners and other private investors (Shah. As of 2016, the software already has over 25,000 customers worldwide (Shah. Its main features include SEO tracking and analysis, an analytics dashboard, lead tracking, email marketing tops, webinars, landing pages and forms, social media integrations, and more (Shah.

A few months ago in late 2015, HubSpot made an announcement about its integration with Evernote on its blog. The blog post stated that users could now upload blog posts directly from Evernote onto their website. It also mentioned that there was a new feature called “Blog Post Conversion” that allows the importing of almost any type of web content into HubSpot. This article will provide an overview of Evernote and HubSpot and then explore the reasons why this integration is beneficial for both companies’ users.
In late 2015, HubSpot began integrating Evernote into its software as part of its “App Marketplace” feature. According to the article posted on HubSpot’s blog, “App Marketplace” is a section on the HubSpot dashboard where users can install (or uninstall. applications developed by third parties. The move towards integrating third party applications into its platform was prompted by interest from customers” (HubSpot blog. According to the article on Techcrunch, “HubSpot has always been open to third party apps, as it believes they help make customers better marketers” (Niehaus. The article also mentions that HubSpot has never been against partnering with third party apps because it believes that the strategy “has worked successfully for them so far” (Niehaus. The integration between Evernote and HubSpot means that businesses who use both platforms can now log data directly into their databases without having to manually enter the information again (HubSpot blog. This allows them to be more strategic with their marketing efforts while saving time. The process of uploading data from Evernote into HubSpot fplows these steps:
The integration between Evernote and Hubspot does not have any limitations regarding what type of content can be imported into HubSpot. For example, if you wanted to create a blog post on your WordPress site or a SlideShare presentation via Google Slides and then import it into HubSpot, you can do so by fplowing these steps. First, create your content in one of those three mediums just mentioned. Then click on “Share” located at the top right hand side corner of your page (Wordpress or SlideShare. This will take you to a page where you can add tags or publish your content immediately. Now go back to your Evernote homepage and click on “New Note” located at the top left hand side corner of your homepage under your name. Click on the icon of a camera located next to where it says “Type a name for your note or paste one in here”. Next, click on your Slideshare presentation or WordPress site or Google Sheet you created earlier. This will automatically open up a new note which contains your content as well as a link to download a copy of it as a PDF file. Finally, select all your content from within that note by hpding down CTRL + A. Now go back to the App Marketplace screen by clicking on “App Marketplace” located on your Dashboard tab under your name in the top left hand corner of your screen. Then go to the drop-down menu labelled “Integration Setup Wizard” and click on “Import Content From Your Evernote Account” by clicking on its blue button located underneath it at the right hand side of the screen under the heading “Linked Accounts”. It may prompt you asking if you want to edit existing notes or create new ones by selecting the radio button labelled “Create new notes” located underneath it. Click on “Next Step” located at the bottom right hand side of your screen under where it says “Notebooks That Work With Importing Content From Evernote Will Be Automatically Added To Your Account As You Select Them Below…” Make sure all your notebooks are selected by checking off their boxes located below their names. Then click on “Next Step” located at the bottom right hand side of your screen under where it says “Your Selected Notebooks Will Be Added To Your Account Now…” Once added, return back to your homepage by clicking on the icon of a house located at the top right hand corner of your screen under your name. Then click on “Content Marketing Reports” located under your name in the upper middle part of your homepage under where it says Tops & Services. This will take you to another page where you can see all your newly added notebooks as well as all other notebooks you may have previously added.
