Integration of Email By Connect and SharePoint
Email By Connect is a browser based email spution, an online email service that is compatible with Microsoft Outlook Web Access. It is a product of Citrix Systems, and is a business oriented cloud-based email spution for businesses. It is easy to install, and can be installed on any devices without the need of software installation. SharePoint is an online cplaboration platform that offers services like document management, calendaring, web content management, social networking, and social media integration. It is mainly used by organizations for cplaboration within their organization.
Integration of Email By Connect and SharePoint
Email By Connect can be integrated with SharePoint in many ways. It can be integrated using its API, or it can be integrated using a third party application.
Email By Connect’s API can be used to integrate Email By Connect and SharePoint so that users can have an access to both the applications at the same time. This integration allows users to view emails from their favorite email client i.e. Microsoft Outlook. An email sent from Microsoft Outlook will be forwarded to the user’s Email By Connect account, which will then be forwarded to the user’s SharePoint mailbox (if it exists. So when users receive the email from their SharePoint mailbox, they will also receive an alert that states that they have received an incoming email. Users can then reply to the email from their SharePoint mailbox and send it back to their Microsoft Outlook account. In order to enable this integration, users must configure their Outlook Web Access account accordingly, so that Emails By Connect will forward all emails to their SharePoint mailbox. The users must set their Windows Live Messenger account as well so that when they send an email from Microsoft Outlook Web Access, the email is also forwarded to the SharePoint mailbox (SharePoint must be configured to support this feature.
Another way of integrating Email By Connect and SharePoint is to use a third party application called XenMobile. This application allows users to send emails from their Microsoft Outlook Web Access account to their SharePoint mailbox. All users must do in order to use this application is to configure the application with their Email By Connect account and SharePoint mailbox. XenMobile also allows users to send emails using SharePoint applications, such as OneNote and Exchange Server.
