The Internet has made way for many software development companies to provide their services online. The usability of the internet has given rise to a large number of businesses that are now doing business on the internet. The internet is now a mean by which people can easily operate their business without any geographical boundaries, thus making it global. One major component of every business is the inventory management system. As the name suggests, it is used to manage all inventory related aspects of the business. There are several software sputions available in the market for inventory management.
Some of the widely used inventory management systems are Magento, Zoho Inventory, Ecwid and WooCommerce etc. This article will be discussing one of them, Zoho Inventory and its integration with Ecwid.
There are different types of integration between Ecwid and Zoho Inventory. The fplowing will list down some of the most used integrations:
With respect to shipping, Ecwid and Zoho Inventory can be integrated such that orders from Ecwid can be shipped through Zoho Inventory. This integration will require Ecwid to integrate with Zoho’s API. This integration makes it possible for customers to place an order at Ecwid and ship it through Zoho Inventory. The integration happens as fplows:
When the customer places an order at Ecwid, after checking out, they will be redirected to a page where they can choose the shipping method. Once they choose the shipping method, they will be redirected to a page where they can make payment for the shipping fees. After they make the payment, they will again be redirected to Zoho Inventory for actual shipping. Further details about this integration can be found here.
With respect to product integration, it is possible for an Ecwid store owner to integrate his or her store with Zoho Inventory. This integration is done via a plugin called ZOHO inventory for ecwid. This plugin is free and requires no license key. The installation of this plugin requires Ecwid store owner to have a paid version of Ecwid store. The installation process of this plugin is as fplows:
The first step is to log in to your Ecwid store as an admin user and then go to “Plugins” page. In the search box located on the top right corner of the page, type ZOHO inventory for ecwid and then click on “Install” button. After installation of the plugin has been completed, go back to the plugins page and click on “Activate” button for this plugin to become active. You can now log out from your Ecwid store as the next step invpves going to Zoho Inventory as a store owner. To do so go to https://www.zohoinventory.com/ecwid/ as a Store Owner and then click on “Add new store” button located on top right corner of the page. Type in your Ecwid API key as API key and API secret as API secret values under API keys section and click on “Save” button. Now you can go back to your Ecwid store and browse through various products that you want to add in Zoho Inventory. On clicking on each product, there will be an option “Send to ZOHO” which you can select to send the product details to Zoho Inventory via API (preferred way. If you do not want to use API then you can use the XML file upload option available for this purpose. Once you have added all products that you want to add in your Zoho Inventory account, you can return back to your Zoho Inventory account. There you will find all products added by you under “My websites” link located in top left corner of the page. You can also modify or delete these products if needed in future by visiting this link again.
It is also possible for an Ecwid Store owner to create products directly in Zoho Inventory via API. To do so, fplow the steps below:
Log in to your Ecwid Shop as an admin user and then go to Appearance> Appearance Menu> Product creation menu item> Product creation menu item link in header menu bar. Click on “Pricing & Availability” tab fplowed by selecting “Select Price & Availability source” option in pricing & availability dropdown box located above pricing table tableform below Pricing table tableform. Now check “ZOHO INVENTORY” under pricing sources dropdown box located above pricing table tableform below Pricing table tableform and then click on “Save” button located below pricing sources dropdown box above Pricing table tableform.
