In this paper I will discuss the integration of eBay and SugarCRM. I will explain what is eBay, what is SugarCRM and how eBay and SugarCRM can be integrated.
eBay is an online auction website. It is one of the most popular websites all over the world. eBay was launched in 1995 by Pierre Omidyar. eBay has about 150 million users worldwide. The company’s headquarters are located in San Jose, California.
SugarCRM is a customer relationship management (CRM. software. It helps companies to manage their customers more effectively. It helps them to know their customers better and track their behavior online. It also helps companies to look to their customers as assets rather than liabilities. SugarCRM helps its clients to improve their customer service and increase their revenues. The company’s headquarters are located in Pleasanton, California. The company was founded in 2004 and it employs about 700 people.
Integration of eBay and SugarCRM can be beneficial for both companies. eBay can benefit from SugarCRM because it can work with its customers better and tell them what products they need to buy from eBay. If the company can tell its customers what they need to buy from eBay, then it can provide better support for them in terms of marketing, merchandising, fulfillment and service because it knows exactly what these customers want. This can help the company achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction and repeat purchases from its customers. On the other hand, SugarCRM can benefit from eBay because it can help SugarCRM increase its revenues by showing its potential clients how it can help them increase their revenues. Moreover, the ability of eBay to deal with its customers better will also help SugarCRM to get more clients.
There are many benefits of integration between eBay and SugarCRM which I am going to explain now:
1- Better customer service
EBay knows everything about its customers before SugarCRM does because it has been dealing with them for years. It knows what they like and don’t like; what they want and don’t want; and so on. If those details were shared with SugarCRM then the company could provide better customer service which would increase its revenues. For example, if it knows that a certain customer buys a product from a particular category or brand then it can suggest that particular item to that customer again when he/she comes back to the site. A good example of this kind of integration is YouTube and Google Adwords. If you have used both websites you have probably noticed that YouTube suggests some relevant keywords whenever you search for something on that website. These keywords are suggested by Google Adwords which is another Google product (Adwords is an advertising platform. YouTube and Google Adwords are integrated together because they are both owned by Google. So, integration between eBay and SugarCRM could be very beneficial for both companies but it will take time to achieve that level of integration because there may be some legal issues that may not allow both companies to integrate their systems together.
2- Higher revenues
If eBay and SugarCRM integrate their systems then they will be able to offer better services to their clients which will help them increase their revenues in the long run. For example, if eBay knows what products their clients like then it can make use of that information to sell those products on its website when the client comes back again or recommends those products to his/her friends and family members via email or another way. In addition, if SugarCRM knows what kind of services its clients need then it can provide those services through eBay which will help the company increase its revenues in the long run because it will increase its number of clients and repeat purchases from those clients in the future. Another example of this kind of integration is Amazon and Zappos which are two companies that are integrated together because they are both owned by Amazon Inc., which is owned by Jeff Bezos who owns Amazon (Amazon bought Zappos in 2009.
3- Increased income for both companies
It has been said before that integration between eBay and SugarCRM could boost both companies’ revenues. This means that both companies could earn more money in the long run if they integrate their systems together but it will take time and effort to achieve that level of integration because there might be some legal issues that may prevent this kind of integration in the beginning especially if they are both owned by different companies in different countries which could lead to problems regarding patents, trademarks, copyrights, etc. However, the integration between eBay and SugarCRM can still be very beneficial for both companies because they could increase fluctuations in revenue stream even if they don’t integrate their systems together because each company could benefit from the other company’s strengths and weaknesses in terms of online experience, customer service, technpogical knowledge, etc. For example, eBay is good at online experience so they could help SugarCRM improve their online experience so their clients could enjoy shopping on their website; meanwhile, SugarCRM is good at customer service so they could help eBay improve their customer service so clients could feel more secure when they shop on eBay.
