Integration of Dropbox and Blesta

Dropbox?

Dropbox is an American commercial company that provides cloud services for storing, hosting, sharing, and synchronizing data. The company was founded in 2007 by Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowski, both of whom were former employees of the file-sharing service Hotmail. It has received several rounds of venture funding from Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners, and others, and is backed by the venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz and Founders Fund. Dropbox uses a freemium business model, where users are offered a free account with a set storage size, which can be upgraded to a paid account with more capacity. The company also offers Dropbox for Teams, Small Business, and Enterprise plans for teams requiring more than 1 TB of storage. In 2014, Dropbox announced its acquisition of Mailbox, a popular email app, and Carousel, another photo-sharing app.

In June 2012, hackers stpe several gigabytes of data from Dropbox’s servers. Shortly after this, Dropbox responded by updated its service agreement to include language that said the company can “disclose [users’] information to law enforcement agencies or government officials” whenever it receives a subpoena or court order. This language has been criticized by some users.

In April 2013, Dropbox acquired TapEngage, a startup that created mobile marketing tops for businesses. In July 2013, the company introduced Carousel, a photo management app for iOS and Android that lets users view their photos across different platforms. In October of that year, the company launched Paper, a cplaborative word processor. It had more than 100 million registered users as of December 2015.

On December 16, 2015, TechCrunch reported that Dropbox was valuated at $10 billion after it received a $500 million investment from private equity firm TPG at a $10 billion valuation.

Blesta?

Blesta is an online document-editing service which allows users to create, edit and share documents online. Users can launch the web application using any modern web browser on any operating system but the desktop application only works on Windows and Mac OS X. The desktop application is available as a free download from the official website and requires registration before use. The service generates revenue by offering additional storage space for documents. Blesta is free for up to 500 MB of storage space and charges $0.25 per month per additional 50 MB of storage space up to 2 GB.
