As technpogy started to take over the world when computers became more affordable and mobile devices like smartphones were invented, businesses had to start changing their ways. Businesses had to become more agile and adaptable to the rapidly changing world that we live in. This change in business is called Drift, and it has given way to new business models that are ever changing.

Nimble

Nimble, defined in the dictionary, is "agile and quick moving." This is another change that has allowed businesses to not only survive but thrive in this technpogically advanced world. To be nimble, in my eyes, is to be able to change with the times, to be able to adapt to whatever comes your way. Having a flexible business model, being able to pivot when necessary, and being able to create new products/services at a fast pace are characteristics of being nimble.

As I mentioned earlier, Drift and Nimble are two very different things. Drift is the slow change over time of things, while Nimble is the ability to be able to adapt quickly to whatever comes your way. These two things can coexist together if you have a fluid business model. One example of this would be Google's search engine. Google's search engine originally was very simple, yet they were able to adapt their business model by becoming an internet company that offers many other useful services such as Gmail, YouTube, etc… The ability for them to adapt their business model has given them an advantage over other internet companies that are struggling with adapting their business models.
