Microsoft Teams is a cloud based platform that helps teams cplaborate and communicate in real-time. It’s an instant messaging top that brings together all the different modes of communication – voice, video, text, meetings, and more. Microsoft Teams is built on the Office 365 platform and provides a unified communications experience for your organization.
In this blog post I will explain how Drift integrates with Microsoft Teams.
The Microsoft Teams Integration can be used to streamline customer interactions. Drift allows you to automatically create Microsoft Teams channels for each new conversation started in the Drift inbox. The integration automatically attaches Drift chat transcripts to your team channel, which means you can have a centralized location for all customer conversations within Microsoft Teams. This also means that any time a new conversation starts in your Drift inbox, Microsoft Teams will be notified via webhook so that you can immediately join the conversation and do whatever it takes to respve the issue.
The integration can be set-up with just a few clicks. First, you need to enable the integration within your account settings (see this article. Next, you’ll want to decide whether or not you would like to attach the transcript of the conversation to the Microsoft Teams channel it belongs to. This can be done by selecting “Yes” in the “Attach Chat Transcript” option within your account settings. Then, as mentioned above, when a new conversation is started in your Drift inbox, Drift will automatically create a channel within Microsoft Teams. The name of the channel will be the name of the customer or company that initiated the conversation. Lastly, you’ll want to decide if you would like to append any hashtags to the channel name. This can be done by selecting “Yes” in the “Append Hashtags” option within your account settings.
Like other integrations, Microsoft Teams is an optional feature for your Drift account. You can turn it on, off, or disable it at any time from your account settings page. If you have additional questions about this integration, please feel free to reach out to our Support Team!
