Downtime Alert is a service offered by Google to monitor website or web server status, and can send notifications if they go down.
Google Ads is a service from Google that allows you to advertise your website, business, or app on Google search results and the Google Display Network.
There are two steps to integrating Downtime Alert and Google Ads. First you need to set up Downtime Alert for your website. After Downtime Alert is set up you can integrate it with your Google Ads account.
Go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tops/downtime-alert and click “Enable” under the “Downtime alert” section. In the “Webmaster Tops” window, click “Downtime alert” in the left menu. In the “Downtime alert settings” section, click “Add a site”. The next page will show you the status of your website. Click “Next” to proceed. On the “Add new site” page, fill in the required fields. Click “Save” when finished. Next to “Send me email alerts” select “Yes, please!” for both options. Click “Next” when satisfied with your selections. On the last page, click “Finish setup”. You should receive an email shortly after confirming your email address about your newly created integration. The email will give you access to your site’s integration settings. Click on the link in the email to see your site’s settings. On the “Site maintenance” page, scrpl down to the bottom of the page and click on “Link to Google Ads account”. If you don’t have a Google Ads account, click on “Create one now”. If you already have an account, enter your account credentials in the appropriate fields. Click “Verify my account” if necessary (you may be asked to verify your account if using a different browser. You should be taken to the Google Ads home page. From here you can view your ad account information and see all of your active campaigns. Click “Continue Setup” at the bottom of the page to finish linking your accounts together. You will be taken to a confirmation page where you can view details about your Linked Accounts integration. Click “Finish Setup” to confirm that you want to complete the integration process. Your accounts are now linked! You will receive an email from Google confirming that you have linked accounts together. You will also be able to view your website’s Downtime Alert integration details in your Google Ads account under “Accounts & Billing > Linked accounts”.
You are now able to use Google Ads for automatic bid adjustments when your website goes offline!
