DocuSign is an electronic signature service for the purpose of signing documents. It was founded in 2003 and is based in Mountain View, California. The company offers services that help clients to electronically sign documents from their desktops. It is used by companies such as IBM, Adobe, and Hershey’s. The company also introduced a mobile application that allows users to sign documents through the mobile device. The application is available online or can be downloaded. DocuSign also has a free plug-in which can be installed onto WordPress and Salesforce.
Shopify is a cloud-based e-commerce platform or a software as a service (SaaS. which helps businesses with online stores. It was founded in 2004 and its headquarters is in Ottawa, Canada. The company’s software helps companies set up online businesses without the need to become web developers. Shopify offers three subscription plans. Basic, Professional, and Unlimited. Aside from the three subscription plans, Shopify also offers online stores that are compatible with their software. This includes domains, payment gateways, and shipping carriers.
DocuSign has recently integrated Shopify into their software to make it easier for customers to purchase products online. With this integration, customers will be able to easily use DocuSign to sign digital contracts for purchases on Shopify platforms. Shopify has also been integrated with other e-commerce platforms such as Magento and BigCommerce. This would allow customers to shop through Shopify and then pay through the other e-commerce platforms mentioned. These integrations were made possible by Desk.com, which is an online support service offered by Shopify. Desk.com helps customers access support through email, live chat, or phone calls. Henry Wang of DocuSign said that “It’s really just about bringing these two experiences together so that you can pick the right top at the right time.” (Rosenberg. This integration allows customers to go through the process of purchasing products more quickly and accurately through digital contracts signed on DocuSign via Desk.com. This would make customers feel more secure about making purchases from online stores because they would know that they agreed to certain terms through digital contracts signed on a trusted service such as DocuSign. Moreover, this integration would allow for more convenience because it eliminates the need to transfer documents back and forth between different software programs in order to complete transactions in different platforms. As stated by Wang, it allows users to pick the right top at the right time, depending on the needs of the customer’s business transaction. This integration would eliminate the need for paper contracts which could take days or weeks to be mailed back and forth between two parties who are conducting business transactions with each other.
There are various benefits that both Shopify and DocuSign could gain from this integration. For instance, customers could experience better buying experiences when using this integration because they can sign more contracts digitally instead of on paper using pen and ink. When buying products online, customers are required to accept certain terms in order to finish the transaction and have their products shipped to them. But because there are no real-life shop owners who can also serve as witnesses when buyers actually agree to these terms, customers will sometimes think that they have agreed in signing those terms even if they haven’t because they don’t want the products they bought to get lost in the mail or get held up in customs if they refuse to accept those terms. But with this integration, customers have less reason to doubt that they have actually agreed to certain terms because they can physically sign digital contracts in order to accept those terms; not only will they see what they are signing but they will also get immediate confirmation that they have signed those terms digitally on their mobile devices through an app such as DocuSign or on their computers through a web browser.
