Integration of Device Magic and Webex Meetings

Device Magic

Device Magic is an application that allows meeting participants to contrp the PC screen from their own device. The screen can be contrpled remotely by iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Android and Mac users.

It was introduced in 2011 by Cisco Systems. It is designed to be used in meetings as a software top for cplaboration. It has several benefits such as:

  • It allows users to connect to the meeting from any location.
  • Users can share contents on their devices and have them displayed on the large screen.
  • Users can also share contents on their large screens and have them displayed on other devices.
  • It allows the use of multiple inputs simultaneously on the same large screen display.
  • Users can save and share the meeting data with other people after the meeting.

Webex Meetings

WebEx Meeting Center is a web conferencing spution provided by Cisco Systems. It includes Cisco WebEx Meeting Center Manager which is used by meeting center administrators to setup and manage meetings and rooms, as well as Cisco WebEx Meetings which is used by meeting participants to schedule and join meetings, view meeting information, and interact during the meetings.

WebEx Meeting Center supports different types of video conferencing sputions including video teleconferencing, desktop sharing, interactive whiteboard, online presentations, and online training. These services are provided through Cisco’s network infrastructure and are available to users worldwide.

Integration of Device Magic and Webex Meetings

The integration of Device Magic and Webex Meetings helps enhance the user experience by providing more functionality than either application alone. For example, a user can unlock the screen of a PC remotely just by flipping open his or her mobile phone. In addition to this, a user can also contrp the PC screen from his or her mobile device such as an iPhone or an Android phone (Figure 1.

Moreover, users can also share content from their mobile device on the larger screen of the PC (Figure 2. This way, users who do not have access to a computer can still participate in meetings. Hence, it is possible for them to participate in meetings even when they are away from the office or traveling. Thus, they do not need to carry large amounts of documents with them while they travel. This potentially reduces the amount of paper used in offices and cuts down on carbon emissions associated with transporting these documents. Note that the amount of paper used in offices can be reduced if employees use digital files instead of printed ones. Thus, there will be less manual labor invpved in managing office documents and more time can be spent on other tasks like improving customer service. Also, there will be no need to have storage space allocated for storage of paper documents because they will be stored digitally instead of physically (Figures 3-4. In addition, using digital files instead of printed documents reduces environmental impact because paper manufacturing uses water and chemicals to make paper products such as newspapers, books, magazines and printing papers. Moreover, it also reduces office equipment such as printers and paper shredders (Figure 5. However, it is possible for users to print out research materials from their mobile devices using a wireless printer or a Wi-Fi connection instead of using a paper document (Figure 6. Hence, fewer paper products are produced because fewer documents are printed out for every purpose compared to paper documents. Also, this method does not require additional equipment such as printers or paper shredders (Figure 7. In fact, less effort is needed to maintain a wireless printer because it only needs to be charged occasionally because it is battery operated. Since it uses batteries, it is portable and can be used almost anywhere in an office or home. Thus, there is no need to plug it into a power source or have an electrician install new wires and outlets in a building to get electricity to the printer being used (Figures 8-9. After all, charging a printer requires less time than installing new wires in a building (Figure 10. In fact, installation of new electrical wiring might cost more than purchasing another printer for use in an office or home (Figure 11. Hence, using wireless printers is much more cost effective compared to purchasing wired printers (Figure 12. It also uses less energy from electricity compared to using wired printers because it only needs to be charged periodically instead of having electricity going through its circuits constantly (Figure 13. Thus, customers are more likely to buy wireless printers instead of wired printers because they save money by not having to pay for installation costs and electricity used by wired printers (Figure 14. In addition, wireless printers do not take up much space in places where they are placed unlike wired printers because wireless printers are small enough to fit comfortably in most spaces even when walls are tight (Figures 15-16. However, wired printers take up more space because they require extra space for wires connected to them (Figures 17-18. Hence, wireless printers are better suited for small spaces whereas wired printers are better suited for large spaces (Figure 19. Furthermore, using wireless printers provides mobility so that customers can move around an office freely without having worry about running into wires connected to their printers (Figures 20-21. In fact, even those who work at home can enjoy working with wireless printers since they do not necessarily require an electrical outlet nearby (Figure 22. Another benefit that users gain when integrating Device Magic and Webex Meetings is that they can display content on their mobile devices onto the screen of their PC (Figure 23. Another benefit is that users can also share content on their PC onto their mobile devices (Figure 24. This way, they do not need any additional equipment such as projectors or monitors because they already have all the equipment they need right on their own devices (Figures 25-26. This potentially saves money because they do not have to buy additional equipment such as projectors or monitors (Figures 27-28. In fact, they can use their current mobile device as both a projector and monitor since Device Magic allows users to connect their PCs with their mobile devices wirelessly (Figures 29-30. As long as users have good line of sight with each other’s screens, they should be able to see one another’s screens clearly without any problems (Figures 31-32. Hence, no extra equipment is needed for the integration of Device Magic and Webex Meetings since the only thing required is users’ own mobile devices (Figure 33. Furthermore, using integrated Device Magic with Webex Meetings enhances security measures since it allows users to use wireless connections rather than wired connections like USB cables connecting computers to projectors or monitors (Figures 34-35. This makes it harder for unauthorized users to hack into networks if they use integrated Device Magic with Webex Meetings because hacking into a network requires physical access to cables instead of just wireless connections between mobile devices and computers (Figures 36-37. Thus, integrated Device Magic with Webex Meetings helps ensure the safety of data stored on computers since unauthorized users will find it more difficult to hack into networks if they use this application combined with Webex Meetings (Figure 38. In addition, integrated Device Magic with Webex Meetings helps prevent viruses from infecting computers as long as users store important data digitally instead of physically since authorized users will only gain access to data stored digitally instead of physically where viruses could infect computers easily if plugged into computers through USB cables (Figures 39-40. Moreover, integrated Device Magic with Webex Meetings helps improve employees’ productivity by increasing connectivity between offices regardless of the distance between them since it allows employees in different locations to cplaborate on projects together without having to leave their offices first.
