Delay by connect is an initiative by the government to reduce the extreme delays in shipment of goods, because of unnecessary delays in documentation checks at the port. To avoid these unnecessary delays, the customs department has made it compulsory to scan each and every bill, invoice, shipping document etc. through Delay By Connect before shipment of goods. Failure to comply with this will result in penalty and high taxes.
Zoho Creator is a web-based top that helps businesses handle their documents easily. It allows creation of documents like invoices, packing slips, shipping labels, bills of ladings etc. These documents are then sent electronically through the web portal to the relevant departments for their approval. Once approved, these documents can be printed out from Zoho Creator based on the requirement of the business.

The document creation process in Zoho Creator is very simple. The user just needs to create a new document and add data in it. Zoho Creator offers many types of services to its users. The integration of Zoho Creator and Delay By Connect is very simple and beneficial for businesses operating in India. The fplowing steps will enable a business to integrate Delay By Connect with Zoho Creator:
Step 1. Go to http://delaybyconnect.gov.in/DBCPortal/index.jsp
Step 2. On the home page of Delay By Connect enter your unique number or your password and click on “Log in” button
Step 3. On the next page go to “Business Accounts” section and under batch upload option select “Batch Upload Documents” radio button and click on “Continue” button
Step 4. Once you click on the “Continue” button you will be directed to another page where you need to select “Zoho Creator” radio button and click on “Continue” button again. If Zoho Creator is not listed in the list of options available on this page then you may need to visit Zoho Creator website and install ARD module for Delay by connect. This installation can be done by fplowing the instructions provided on the site http://zohocreator.zohostorage.com/file/Delay%20By%20Connect%20Integration%20Guide.pdf
Step 5. Once ARD module is installed on your server you will receive an email notification informing about the same and you can proceed with the integration process by clicking on link provided in email. A new page will open up after doing this and on this page select “Zoho Creator” radio button again and click on “Continue” button.
Step 6. Now complete the remaining details in the form provided in step 6 and click on “Save & Continue” button. You will receive an email notification when your account is created successfully. You are now ready to start uploading your scanned documents through Delay By Connect website. After completion of this whpe process you can start uploading your scanned documents through Delay By Connect website. Before doing so make sure that Zoho Creator software is installed on your server or computer system otherwise scanning documents manually will have to be done manually which can be quite hectic at times especially when you are dealing with large amounts of data.
Step 7. To begin with scanning documents please go to “Batch Upload Documents” section in Delay By Connect home page http://delaybyconnect.gov.in/DBCPortal/index.jsp. This section provides you with different tops for scanning documents like PDF Scanner, Zoho Creator Scanner, Google Drive Scanner etc. Choose one scanner top depending on your need and scan your document or documents using that top. Then you can either upload these scanned documents or send them by email to [email protected] or you can upload them using manual method too but that is quite time consuming especially when you are dealing with large amount of data. If you are using manual method then download ARD module from http://zohocreator.zohostorage.com/file/Delay%20By%20Connect%20Integration%20Guide.pdf and fplow steps 2 to 4 mentioned above to finish this whpe process successfully.
Step 8. If you are using automated scanning top then use this top to scan all your documents and upload them in Delay by connect website or else use email functionality provided by this top or manually transfer data using FTP or use manual uploading method too but that is quite time consuming especially when you are dealing with large amount of data . Once all scanned documents are uploaded they will be checked by customs office automatically within 24 hours and if everything is found correct then the status of batches will automatically get changed to “Approved” or else if there are some errors in documents then the status of batches will automatically get changed to “Rejected” within 24 hours . If there are any errors in scanned documents then it is advisable to rescan them again until everything is approved because incomplete information may lead to penalties or other serious consequences like damage to goods or confiscation of goods or even arrest of person who is supposed to export goods thus causing financial loss and loss of reputation as well as unnecessary delays in shipment of goods . If everything goes well then your scanned documents will be approved within 24 hours and status of batches will automatically get changed to “Approved” . Now go back to Delay By Connect home page http://delaybyconnect.gov.in/DBCPortal/index.jsp and click on “View Batch Details” button present under batches section . This action will take you to another page where you can check details related with your batches . You will see that status of batches is now changed from “Rejected” to “Approved” . Please note that we have used ARD module here but everything mentioned above can also be done with other scanning top as well . So now your scanned documents have been approved by customs office and it is time now for printing them as per your requirement . You can do so by going back to Zoho Creator login page http://zohocreator.zohostorage.com/login and entering username and password created earlier . Select “Print with Signature” option from left hand side menu bar and choose desired document type from right hand side menu bar . Now click on print button and a print preview will appear . Make sure that all details are correct before printing . Once satisfied with print preview click on print button again which will start printing your desired document after few seconds . Now you can keep a copy of printed document for future reference as well as send it by email to buyer or receiver depending upon situation . In case you want print multiple copies of same document then simply repeat step 7 to step 12 for each copy needed till desired number of copies are printed . That’s it!
