How DEAR Inventory & Office 365 Integrations Work

Integration of DEAR Inventory and Office 365

Let’s start the discussion with “DEAR Inventory”. It is an Excel based inventory management system that stores all the software, hardware and the license keys of your company in an organized manner. This helps you to take inventory at any time for any place. Today many organizations are using this DEAR Inventory system. The software was developed by a group of professionals at Dominoes All Round Enterprises (DARE. It covers almost every aspect of a company including its employees, assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses etc.

Now let’s move on to Office 365. Office 365 is a web based productivity suite which comprises of Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Skype for Business and Lync. It offers web based tops like email, meetings and calendars which lets you cplaborate with people from any location. It also allows you to access these services from any device. Each of these tops has 70 plus features which can be used to their full potential. You can sign up for Office 365 through your normal online account or the company’s own account.

In this section we will see how DEAR Inventory and Office 365 can be integrated with each other. This integration will help in taking inventory of a company through a single platform. This will save time and effort of a company in multiple ways. Let’s see how integration of DEAR Inventory and Office 365 can be done.

First step is to create a connection between DEAR Inventory and Office 365. To do this go to “Settings” tab then click on “Integration” option. Now you will see list of the products that are already connected to DEAR Inventory. You can also add new connections by clicking on “Add New Connection” button. Click on the Office 365 option and click on “Connect” button. You will see two options there, one “License Keys” and another “Files”. Choose either “License Keys” or “Files” which you want to integrate with DEAR Inventory and click on “Next” button. Now you need to provide the login credentials of Office 365 account. Enter the login details and click on “Next” button. If you get any errors during this process, click on the “Assistant” button on the bottom right corner of the screen to get assistance from DEAR Support team. Once the connection is successfully established, you will see it listed as shown below:

Now, you can use DEAR Inventory to manage office 365 licenses keys or files from a single platform. You can also export data from one platform to another. For example if you want to take a backup of your entire office 365 data from DEAR Inventory, just click on “Export to Office 365 Backup” option from the left side menu bar as shown below:

Now a pop-up window will appear asking you where you want to save the file on your computer. Then click on “Save File” button and your backup will automatically start downloading. If you open the downloaded file with an archive extractor top you will see all your office 365 user information in an excel sheet format as shown below:
