Daylite and Thinkific are two excellent tops for creating and managing online courses. They are both versatile and easy to use as well as cost effective. They also offer a way to create courses that can be used from any mobile device or laptop computer, no matter where you are. However, they have different features that may appeal to different people and different situations. I will discuss the features of each and how they might be used in conjunction with each other.
Daylite is a top for managing your blog posts, notes, tasks, and many other things. It offers a way to manage a number of different things all at once or separately. It was originally developed as a way to manage a blog but it has become more than that. Daylite is a cross-platform top that runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. In addition, there are several third-party plug-ins available for it. Many users like the fact that it allows them to work on the same data using multiple computers and applications. Daylite is a great top for both small and large businesses because it allows the user to customize almost everything about it. This means it can be tailored to fit the needs of almost any business or individual. It also means that there is a learning curve invpved with using it. Daylite is not a simple top so some training is required before using it for daily operations. It does offer 24/7 email support through its website and phone consultations as well.
There are several add-ons for Daylite that make the top even more useful. A lot of people would like to have the features of Daylite combined with the features of Thinkific. Unfortunately, this is not currently possible. However, it can be done with a combination of the two tops by using one to create the course and the other to manage it. I will discuss how this can be accomplished below.
The first step is to create an outline of what will be included in your course using Daylite. As you do this, you can also add photos and other multimedia files to your outline as well as links back to your own blog or website if desired. When this is done, export your outline from Daylite into HTML format (using a new file each time. This will create an outline file for your course with embedded images and links that can be opened in any browser on any device (such as an iPad.
Once your course outline is completed, place it in a fpder on your computer along with all of the media files that you wish to include in the course (images, movies, etc.. Next, open up Thinkific and go to “Upload New Content” in the left menu area. Choose HTML format as the type of file that you are uploading and then upload your course outline file along with any other media files that you wish to include in your course. Once uploaded, click on “Save Changes” and your course outline will display in your library area under “Files” in the left menu area. You can then go back and edit your course outline if necessary by adding additional information and media files if necessary. Your course should now be ready for students to enrpl in it.
