Integrate Datadog with Textline

Datadog is a monitoring service that helps companies track and analyze their application infrastructure.

Textline is a text message management platform for customer engagement.

As of Oct 2018, Datadog has been integrated with Textline. In the fplowing blog post, I will be writing an article about the integration of Datadog and Textline, and how it will benefit Datadog’s users.

The fplowing are the benefits of integration of Datadog and Textline:

• The integration will provide users the ability to send out text messages to customers when certain metrics in Datadog exceeds threshpds. This feature will enable users to improve their sales performance through increased conversion rates when customers receive immediate notifications. Moreover, when sending out text messages to customers, users can also include links which can direct to web pages or applications in addition to the standard text message.
• The integration will provide users with an emergency notification functionality that enables them to send out an emergency text message to everyone in their contact list in case of emergency. The emergency notification feature can be triggered by the fplowing events:

• A server goes down.
• A server has reached its maximum capacity.
• A service is unavailable.
• A service is overloaded.
• A service is under attack.

• The integration will allow users to send out alerts via text message when something goes wrong with their system. Users can also configure alerts for specific alerts or groups of alerts, so they may receive customized alerts. For example, if there is an alert that indicates “a firewall has been breached”, users can customize the alert so they only receive the incident report when there are breaches on particular applications or servers. Furthermore, users can customize the priority level of the alerts so they only get critical alerts while the other minor alerts are filtered out. Additionally, users can customize the channel on which they want to receive the alerts on, i.e., SMS or email.
