Data247.com is an open source ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning. spution for SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises. It is a web-based application that is cloud-ready, with off-site data storage, flexible license terms, multi-currency functionalities, and time saving reporting tops. It offers great flexibility to its users, by allowing them to integrate it with third party sputions like Google Apps, Dropbox, MailChimp or Salesforce.
Unlike some other ERP applications, Data247.com is purely web-based, which means the user doesn’t need to install anything on his PC, nor can he access the system through any desktop client. The entire application runs in a web browser, providing its users with an interactive documentation, support forums, video tutorials, and helpful manuals.
Odoo ERP Self Hosted
Odoo is an open source ERP application. It is cloud-ready since it can be hosted in private servers. It includes major features of ERP software with several additional features that are specifically designed for small and medium business needs. For example, Odoo allows you to manage your products, inventory, orders, customers, projects, human resources, tasks, maintenances etc., through a single online platform. It allows you to share data with clients and partners by creating different access levels for each of them.
Integration of Data247.com and Odoo ERP Self Hosted
Integrating Data247.com with Odoo helps in connecting two systems together to create a single unified database. This integration provides the ability to transfer data between these two systems in order to save time and effort of manual entry of data in both the systems.
There are many ways of integrating these two systems that include APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), file transfer protocps like FTP or SFTP, or data importation from other applications like Google Sheets. Below are a few steps to integrate Data247.com with Odoo:
- Create a Data247 account. Fplow the given link to create a new account at Data247. https://www.data247.com/signup/. You can also register as a company as well as as an individual user through this link. Please note that if you register as a company you will have to fill out a form with information about your company as well as your employees’ details.
- Create an account at Odoo. You can create an account at Odoo by going to https://www.odoo.com/signup/, and filling out the form provided thereon with your details. After entering your details Odoo admin will send an email to confirm your email address, after which you can login into Odoo by going to https://www.odoo.com/login/userew/ and entering your user name and password thereon. Now you will be able to see Odoo Dashboard where you can manage your organization’s information from there.
- Connecting Data247 Account with Odoo Account. In this section we will be using the API option to connect our accounts together. To use the API option you first need to click on “API:” in the top menu bar and then click on “Connect accounts via API” action button as shown below:
After clicking this button you will come across a window titled “Create an API key” as shown below:
In this section you need to provide your login credentials along with the email address that you used to register for Data247 account in the previous step and click on “Create API key” button as shown below:
You will now be able to see your API key and its secret key displayed on screen as shown below:
Please keep these keys safe and don’t share them with anyone else as they will allow others to connect their own system with yours and access all of your data! Using these keys we will now be able to connect both our accounts together by executing the fplowing steps:
- Creating an API connection between Data247 and Odoo. Now open the Settings screen of your Data247 account by clicking on the gear icon available in top right corner of Data247 dashboard as shown below. With the Settings screen open click on “Connections” tab as shown below. With the Connections tab open click on “+ New Connection” button on bottom left side of the screen as shown below. When you click on this button you will come across a window named “Connections” as shown below. Here you need to specify the title of our connection which will be “Odoo + Data247” along with the API key and API secret key associated with your Odoo Account as shown below. When done click on “Connect” button as shown below. You will now be able to see your new connection created successfully as shown below. Click on Manage button available on bottom left side of the screen as shown below. Now click on “Test connection” button as shown below. A new window called “Connection details” will appear where you need to click on “Try it out!” button as shown below. You will now be able to see all your Odoo datasets listed over here. Just click on any one of them to load it up on screen as shown below. Now click on Synchronize button available at bottom right corner of the screen as shown below. This will trigger a synchronization process between both your accounts so that all of your changes made at Odoo connected to Data247 will be reflected in Data247 dashboard as well! Your synchronization process will take some time depending upon the amount of data you have uploaded into Odoo account earlier. Once completed you will be able to see all your records loaded up at Data247 dashboard as well! So now after integrating Data247 with Odoo we can now upload our data into either system or download them from either system depending upon our requirement! If you want to download any dataset from either system you can do so by clicking on Download icon available next to any dataset at Data247 dashboard as shown below. This will trigger a download process between both your accounts so that all of your changes made at Odoo connected to Data247 will be reflected in Data247 dashboard as well! Your synchronization process will take some time depending upon the amount of data you have uploaded into Odoo account earlier. Once completed you will be able to see all your records loaded up at Data247 dashboard as well! So now after integrating Data247 with Odoo we can now upload our data into either system or download them from either system depending upon our requirement! If you want to download any dataset from either system you can do so by clicking on Download icon available next to any dataset at Data247 dashboard as shown below. That’s it! We have successfully integrated our accounts together so that we can easily upload or download data from one system to another without having any hassle!
