ConvertKit is a company that provides the tops for bloggers and marketers to grow their brands. You can read more about ConvertKit’s history in this blog post from Nathan Barry who is the Founder of ConvertKit.
Hunter is a top that allows you to track your emails and subscriptions on your website. It also provides a great dashboard that allows you to see the metrics of your email list, including open rates, click rates, unsubscribes, and more. It also provides a nice reporting feature to make it easy to dig deeper into the data. Hunter also has a feature called “Hunter Inbox” which is a pretty cop way to make sure you don’t miss any opportunities from your list.
ConvertKit and Hunter integrate seamlessly with each other, and they both support multiple ways of setting up your integration. I first set up my integration by having Hunter “listen” for an HTTP request from ConvertKit’s new subscription form on my website. Then, I set up the integration so that new subscribers would be added as a contact in my ConvertKit account. This worked great, and made it easy to keep track of my new subscribers. However, some people might not want their subscribers to be added as contacts. But there are still three other ways of setting up the integration between these two apps:
Hunter will send an email after a user signs up for your list and then adds them as a contact in your ConvertKit account. You can use Hunters “Hunter Inbox” functionality to receive new subscribers as notifications in real time. You can set up a Zapier integration to create a flow of data between the two platforms. (This method also works for integrating with Infusionsoft.)
The most obvious benefit of the integration of these two platforms is that it makes it easy for you to keep track of all of your subscribers across platforms. For example, if someone subscribes to your email list using the ConvertKit subscription form on your website, then clicks one of your affiliate links, then signs up for your free trial using the Hunter plugin on your website, then requests to be added to your email list through Hunter’s “Add As Contact” feature, then you will be able to see all of this data in the Hunter dashboard, and you won’t miss out on any opportunities to market to this person. I found this to be incredibly powerful when I started using it! Also, if someone requests information via email, but you want to offer them something in return for signing up for your list (like an eBook or free report), then you can do that using the “Send Welcome Email” feature in ConvertKit’s automation editor. That person will then be added as a contact in your ConvertKit account, effectively adding them to your list without giving them access to your main email list until they request it or opt in to receive emails from you in ConvertKit. Additionally, if someone unsubscribes from your email list using the email in their inbox, they will automatically be unsubscribed in both places! So there is no longer any need for multiple lists in different places. Finally, I found that because I could see all of this data in the Hunter dashboard, I was able to prioritize my time better by knowing exactly where my efforts were best spent based on what kind of interactions people are having with me. Like I said before, it made it very easy for me not to miss any opportunities through my list.
