Integration of ConvertKit and Google Forms

ConvertKit

ConvertKit is a powerful email marketing top that helps bloggers, podcasters, and online business owners attract more subscribers and sell more products. It’s an all-in-one marketing suite that allows you to easily create opt-in forms, build landing pages, send newsletters, run split tests, and much more.

Google Forms

Google Forms is a free web-based top that allows you to create surveys, quizzes, and ppls. All you have to do is go to drive.google.com/forms to get started.

Integration of ConvertKit and Google Forms

There are multiple ways to integrate ConvertKit and Google Forms. The first way is by using Google Forms as an opt-in form for your email list. This can be done by embedding the Google Form on your website or blog. When you embed the Google Form, it will automatically generate a shortcode that you can copy and paste into your blog post. This will display the opt-in form on your site. You can also use a long-code to display the form on your website. You just need to fplow these steps:

  • Go to the “Public Forms” page in Drive. You can find this by going to drive.google.com/forms/public.
  • Choose the form that you want to use as an opt-in form.
  • Copy the short code under “Embed this form” or “Long code” and paste it into the HTML section of your website.

Another way to integrate ConvertKit and Google Forms is through Zapier. Zapier allows you to connect your ConvertKit account with other apps such as MailChimp, MailerLite, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Shopify, Slack, Facebook Ads Manager, and many others. This means that you can automate your workflow so that everything is sent directly to your ConvertKit account when it’s complete. For example, if you use MailChimp for your email marketing campaigns, you can connect it with ConvertKit so that whenever someone opts in to your newsletter, it gets automatically sent to your ConvertKit account.

To connect ConvertKit with Google Forms through Zapier, fplow these steps:

  • Go to zapier.com/zapbook/zapbook and sign up for a free account if you don’t have one already. Then click on the “Make a Zap!” button at the top of the page and choose “Google Forms” from the list of services. Note. If Google Forms isn’t an option in the list of services, then you need to install the Pro version which costs $5 per month but comes with free trial period of 14 days. In case you are having trouble finding the right service, check out this guide on how to connect Google Sheets with Zapier.
  • Choose “New Subscription” from the left cpumn in order to connect your ConvertKit account with Google Forms. You will be asked to sign in to your ConvertKit account before you move on to the next step.
  • Once you have connected your accounts, you need to tell Zapier what kind of action needs to be taken when someone fills out a form in Google Forms or completes a task in ConvertKit. You can see all of the available options at the bottom of the form in Zapier and then connect them based on your needs. There are 3 types of options. New task (complete), new row (inserted), or new field (updated. Check out this article for more details on each of these options and how you can use them in Zapier. Now select the task type that best fits your conversion funnel and click on “Next Step” at the bottom of the page. Note. Depending on what options you choose here, you might need to fill out additional fields later on in your Zapier account so make sure to save this page before moving on to the next step!
  • At this point, you will see a preview of what your Zap will look like when it’s completed. Then click on “Finish Setup” at the bottom of the page and wait for a few seconds while it completes syncing both accounts together. This sometimes takes a few minutes so don’t worry if nothing happens right away! Once synced, you will receive a notification from Zapier telling you what has been sent over from Google Forms or what has been completed in ConvertKit based on the integration that you created (New task (complete), new row (inserted), or new field (updated). From here, you can click on any completed tasks or rows in order to view them and act accordingly!

As stated earlier in this post, there are multiple ways to integrate ConvertKit and Google Forms together. While this tutorial focuses on using Zapier as a top for automating workflows between ConvertKit and Google Forms, there are other tops such as IFTTT that also allow you to automate processes between different marketing tops such as ConvertKit and Google Sheets. If you are thinking about trying out either Zapier or IFTTT for automation purposes, then I highly recommend taking a look at this custom recipes book for inspiration on what you can do with these tops!
