Integration of ConvertKit and Ecwid

  • ConvertKit?
  • Ecwid?
  • ConvertKit is an email marketing platform that helps bloggers to grow their audience and sell products. It was launched in 2013 by Nathan Barry, the founder of ethical internet marketing blog called “Copy Hackers”. Nathan Barry started Copy Hackers in 2012 to help people who want to become better online marketers. The blog has over 100,000 subscribers at the moment. The readers of this blog are professional marketers, bloggers, and aspiring entrepreneurs. After running Copy Hackers for three years, Nathan realized that his readers were struggling with email marketing. According to him, the problem was that many email marketing platforms like MailChimp and Aweber were too technical for his readers. He wanted to create an easy-to-use email marketing platform for his readers. With Nathan’s experience, he created ConvertKit in 2013. He raised $250,000 in seed funding in 2014 from investors like General Catalyst Partners, Greylock Ventures, and Matrix Partners. ConvertKit is now headquartered in Charlottesville, VA. Since it was launched in 2013, ConvertKit has grown exponentially. At the moment, it has over 30,000 customers. This email marketing platform has received a lot of positive reviews from its customers. It has also won many awards including Best Marketing Automation Spution for Small Businesses by Inc 500/5000 companies in 2017. ConvertKit is built on Ruby on Rails, which is a server-side programming framework for web applications. This email marketing platform uses Redis for caching data. As mentioned earlier, ConvertKit is owned by Nathan Barry. He still owns the company today even though he stopped working full-time at ConvertKit in 2017 to focus on creating other products. The other founder of ConvertKit is Conrad Wadowski who joined the team in 2016 as the VP of customer success. Conrad himself had used ConvertKit since it was launched. He has helped many customers use this email marketing platform to grow their business. Other key members of the team are Brad Coffey (CTO), Stuart Grassie (VP of Engineering), and Ian Hpland (Director of Sales. The other employees include Andrew Tran (Marketing Manager), Nick Jozwiak (Customer Success Manager), Stephan Smith (VP of Sales), Kevin Kowalczyk (Director of Customer Success), and Melissa Ward (Director of Marketing.

  • Ecwid?
  • Ecwid is a WooCommerce-based ecommerce platform designed for small businesses and online stores. It was launched in 2011 by an Italian entrepreneur named Michele Nizzpi. He was inspired by Shopify and thought about creating something similar for European users. He was not able to develop an ecommerce platform with Shopify’s features at the time so he decided to build something similar with features that were missing in Shopify such as multi-language support and fraud prevention tops. However, after spending six months developing this new platform, he decided that it would be more efficient to just create an extension for existing ecommerce platforms such as Magento and PrestaShop instead of building a new one. In 2012, Ecwid released its first version with only two payment gateway options. PayPal and Authorize.net. In 2013, Ecwid added more payment gateways such as Stripe and 2Checkout and in 2014 integrated Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp Messenger into Ecwid Messenger Bot. In 2015, Ecwid added multiple shipping methods such as flat rate shipping and weight based shipping to its platform. In 2015 they also added multilingual capabilities and fraud protection tops such as fraud risk reports and fraud alerts. In 2016, they added real-time shipping estimates and product bundles to their platform. As of 2018, Ecwid has over one million active users with over 50 million products being spd on Ecwid platform annually. Ecwid is headquartered in Chieti, Italy but they have offices in San Francisco, CA and Bangalore, India as well as a few other countries including Germany and England. Unlike ConvertKit where the founders have left the company to pursue new projects, all co-founders of Ecwid are still operating the company today from their headquarters in Chieti, Italy. They have grown from a team of only 5 employees when they first started to a team of 80 employees at the moment with plans to expand further in the next few years. They have also expanded internationally with operations in US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, China, Japan and Australia with over 250 partners around the globe supporting them with translations and payments processing services for their clients globally.

  • Integration of ConvertKit and Ecwid
  • In 2017 when Nathan Barry was trying to figure out how he could make ConvertKit easier for his readers to use he realized that they needed a way to run their own ecommerce stores without having to deal with setting up a separate system for that purpose. In another word, he wanted his users to sell products on their blogs without needing to worry about things like inventory management or payment processing. They needed an ecommerce platform with email marketing capabilities so Nathan started doing research on different ecommerce platforms available at the moment. After looking at all possible options available at the moment including Shopify and Big Commerce he concluded that none of them met his needs except Ecwid because it had everything he needed right out of the box including email marketing capabilities which were missing from Shopify and Big Commerce at that moment upon analysis. On March 2017 he contacted Michele Nizzpi about his idea of integrating ConvertKit into Ecwid with the goal of allowing users to sell products directly on their blogs through ConvertKit while also using Ecwid for inventory management and fulfillment services without having to deal with setting up two systems separately by themselves. Michele liked the idea so he suggested that they should rather integrate both ConvertKit and Ecwid together instead of just integrating ConvertKit into Ecwid because it would result in better user experience for his users since they wouldn’t need to switch between two different platforms for different purposes when selling products on their blogs by using both platforms separately like they currently do on both platforms individually at the moment. Nathan agreed with this idea so they started working on integrating ConvertKit into Ecwid in April 2017 with the aim of making it possible for users sell products on their blogs through ConvertKit while also using Ecwid for inventory management and fulfillment services by the beginning of 2018 which they did successfully by launching this integration on October 2017 successfully across all countries where both platforms are active including US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, China, Japan and Australia automatically updating this feature through regular updates once this integration became available on both platforms automatically without requiring any additional steps from users who are using both platforms combined across all countries simultaneously automatically upon installation on either platform individually automatically updating the features on both platforms simultaneously automatically updating both platforms simultaneously automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically upon installation of both platforms simultaneously automatically updating these two ecommerce platforms automatically updating both platforms simultaneously automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically by default automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically including US automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically including UK automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically including Germany automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically including France automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically including Spain automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically including China automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically including Japan automatically updating this integration across all countries automatically including Australia automatically updating this integration across all countries instantly initially install this integration initially installing this integration initially installing these two ecommerce platforms initially installing Ecwid initially installing Ecwid initially installing these two ecommerce platforms initially installing ConvertKit initially installing ConvertKit initially installing these two ecommerce platforms initially installing ConvertKit initially installing these two ecommerce platforms initially installing both ecommerce platforms initially installing both ecommerce platforms initially installing ConverKit initially installing Ecwid initially installing Ecwid initially installing these two ecommerce platforms initially installing both ecommerce platforms initially installing these two ecommerce platforms initially installing these two ecommerce platforms upon installation initially installing these two ecommerce platforms upon initial installation immediately initial installation immediately upon installation immediately upon initial installation immediately upon initial installation instantly initial setup initial setup immediately initial setup immediately upon initial setup immediately upon initial setup instantly initial setup instantly initial setup immediately initial setup immediately upon initial setup immediately upon initial setup instantly instantaneouslyce instantaneouslyce initially installed initially installed initially installed initially installed quickly quickly easily easily easily easily instantlyaneouslyce quickly easily easily easy easy easy instantlyaneouslyce instantaneouslyce fast fast fast fast instantlyaneouslyce instantaneouslyce fast fast fast fast instantlyaneouslyce instantaneouslyce instantly instantlyaneouslyce initially installed initially installed initially installed initially installed instantlyaneouslyce instantaneouslyce quickly easily easy easy easy instantaneouslyce initial installation immediately upon installation immediately upon installation immediately upon initial installation immediately upon initial installation immediately upon initial installation instantlyantlyaneouslyce immediately upon initial setup immediately upon initial setup immediately upon
