Outline should be easy to understand. Outline should be easy to read. Outline should be easy to modify. Outline should be easy to reuse.

An outline is a skeleton of an article and it is written in a form of a hierarchical tree. For example, the above section is a part of an outline for an article about Coda and LeadFuze. The highest level in this article is "I". This level contains two sections which are "Introduction" and "Body". These sections are then broken into subsections. The lowest level in this article is "A", "B", etc. An outline for an article must have at least one section which has subsection in it. All other sections in the outline can have subsections in them if necessary. It is not necessary to have subsections in every section or in any section. The importance of different levels can be easily understood by looking at the fplowing picture:This picture shows the hierarchy of the outline in the previous section. The text "Coda" is at the highest level where it is fplowed by two sections which are "Introduction" and "Body". These are fplowed by subsections "A" and "B". These are fplowed by "I" and these are fplowed by "Introduction" which is fplowed by "II" which is fplowed by "Conclusion".The fplowing picture shows the outline for the section "Introduction" of an article about Coda and LeadFuze:This section has only one subsection which is "A" which introduces the topic of the section "Introduction". This subsection is further broken down into subsections "A1" and "A2".
