Coda is the official blog platform of Twitter, launched in August 2017. The platform is a new development and is mainly used for posting articles on Twitter website. The purpose of this article is to show how Coda integrates with Instagram, to inform readers about the benefits of integration of Coda and Instagram, and to conclude whether integration of Coda and Instagram is beneficial or not.
To begin with, Coda is a blogging platform which allows users to create articles and share photos. It was launched in August 2017 and was named as such by Twitter due to its similarity to the programming language for websites, CSS. It was tweeted by a Twitter employee saying “Today we introduce Coda”. Coda was developed by Thomas Gewirtz, who worked in Twitter from 2012 to 2016. At the time of release, it was only available on iOS, but has since been launched for Android devices as well. The user interface of Coda resembles that of Medium, with a full-screen photo view. Coda supports markdown, which makes it easy for users to publish code from other sources like Stack Overflow. Users can also use hashtags to organize their articles and search for other topics.
Coda has a unique way of integrating with Instagram. When you are posting an article, you can choose whether to post it on Twitter or both Twitter and Instagram. If you choose the latter option, you are redirected to your profile on Instagram where you can add a caption and tag people. If you choose the former option, you are redirected to your profile on Twitter where you can add a caption and tag people. You can also click on the options button (3 vertical dots. and then click “Add image” to add an image from your Instagram account. This feature lets you share your Instagram posts on Twitter while using Coda. However, you cannot add images from your Instagram account when you do not have an article in Coda.
According to me, the integration of Coda and Instagram is beneficial for both companies because it encourages them to compete with each other. This competition will benefit both companies by increasing their engagement rates. On the other hand, it is not beneficial for users because they would like to know how their shared content looks like before publishing it on social media platforms.
