Integration of Coda and Google Groups

Coda

Coda (codawithme.com. is an online cloud-based text editor. Coda was released in 2007 by Panic, Inc. through its subsidiary ReadyRpl, Inc. According to the official website, Coda is designed for creating “HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby on Rails, and more”. Coda allows users to save projects to the Coda Cloud service. The Coda Cloud service allows users to access their files from any computer with internet access. Users can also download their projects in a .zip file.

Google Groups

Google Groups (groups.google.com. is an email list archive created by Google in 2001. Users can create an email list through the Google Groups interface. The email lists are archived in the Google Groups interface, where users can search for specific emails, or see all of the emails in the List Archive tab. Users can also use Google Groups to create private messaging groups between family members or friends.

Integration of Coda and Google Groups

  • Coda integration with Google Groups allows users to export code directly into an email list. The ability to export code directly into an email list removes the need for users to create an archive of their project on their own. It also allows them to add other people to the project by simply sending them the email list that they created through the Google Groups interface. This feature would also allow users to cplaborate with other programmers around the world without needing to download Coda themselves. If they wanted to add someone else to the project, they could just send them the email list and they would be able to view and edit the project.
  • Integration of Coda and Google Groups also allows users to create a blog post directly from their Coda projects and import it directly into their blog. This allows programmers to create blog posts about their programming experiences without having to go through the trouble of exporting the code into a blog post and then editing it into a blog post format. Creating a blog post directly from Coda also saves time because users wouldn’t have to do two different things if they wanted to share their coding experience on their blog. They could make a blog post right from there and it would be ready to go on their blog when they were done creating it.

Benefits of Integration of Coda and Google Groups

  • One benefit of integrating Coda and Google Groups is that users can export code directly into an email list, eliminating the need for step by step instructions on how they created their project in Coda. This point is important because it allows users to add others into their projects without extra work from them when exporting it into an email list format from Coda.
  • Another benefit of integrating Coda and Google Groups is that users can program at home and still have access to their files in case they needed to edit a file in a project at a later date. Since users can save their projects in a .zip file, they can access their projects from anywhere with internet access. This would allow them to work on a programming project from home and still have access to it when they wanted to edit it later on from a different location.
