Coda is an IDE (integrated development environment. built for web development. The Coda app has been the first popular app available on App Store, which makes it a very popular app. This app is developed by Panic Software, Inc., which provides support for many other developers. The company also has another app called Transmit, which has similar functionality as that of Coda. For other features, Coda is very integrated with its own app store. However, other apps can be integrated with Coda. This integration is called Appy Pie Design. The problem with this integration is that it is hard to make even though there are two steps to make it.
The main idea of this integration is very simple. It can be done by adding a file extension to the URL of the page you want to bookmark, which results in creating a new tab that contains the page. It is not just an ordinary tab though because you have to go through the whpe process before being able to edit the page. The first step is to open your Coda app and move the Coda bar to the bottom of the screen so it looks like a normal browser. Then you have to give the bookmark a name and select an icon for it. After adding the bookmark, you have to go back to the Coda bar and click on ‘Bookmarks’. You will now see a list of all bookmarks you’ve made with the option to edit them as well as delete them. This is where you can also create a new bookmark by clicking on the plus sign at the bottom-right corner of the screen. After doing this, you will be redirected to a new tab that is almost identical to your development view. This view contains only one difference; there is a bar at the top of the page that allows you to edit and save your changes. It also contains some buttons that allow you to see any edits you’ve made, which pages you’ve edited, and viewing the title of your bookmarked page. All these buttons are located at the top-right corner of the screen along with the Edit button and Save button. Now if you click on ‘Save’, it will redirect you back to your development view and then you can edit away! If you want to delete your bookmark, just click on ‘Delete’ and it will not only delete whatever you’re editing but also delete any changes that you made and delete the bookmark itself. This brings us to how we can create a bookmark with something else than a document file—such as an app from AppStore or a website from Safari, which I find very useful. I mainly use it for apps from App Store because I think it’s faster to click on a bookmark as opposed to opening Safari and navigating to the app’s page.
I think that Appy Pie Design is a great feature but I don’t know why they decided to make it so complicated when it could be simple as a button that would open a new tab with a given url. Even though the integration of Appy Pie Design is rather complicated, it still has many uses such as allowing me to create new bookmarks faster, which saves me time by not having to open Safari and navigate my way to an app’s page on App Store or any website from Safari. In addition, it allows me to create any webpage as a bookmark so I don’t have to scrpl through certain websites just to find a certain part of a webpage. If I have already found what I was looking for, I can just create a bookmark out of it and easily go back to that webpage anytime I want. Moreover, it allows me to create links within my text editor so that I don’t have to do searches every time I need something specific from a website. As for an improvement suggestion, I would say making Appy Pie Design easier to use by adding more options in Appy Pie Design window instead of one bar at the top of the screen so users can easily click on ‘+ Add Bookmark’ or ‘+ Edit’ without having to go back to Coda bar every time they want to add or edit.
The process to integrate Coda and Appy Pie Design may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
