Integration of CloudTalk and Chatter

CloudTalk is a new, innovative product that can significantly help Chatter. CloudTalk is an overlay to Chatter. It’s an application that works with Chatter data to enrich it with contextually relevant information, making it accessible in real time. The core functionality of CloudTalk is to provide the ability to display the right information to the right people at the right time. This can be done by highlighting important events or occurrences within Chatter, or by surfacing relevant applications or Salesforce data that are used in the Chatter feed.

  • CloudTalk integrates with Salesforce Chatter to enhance the user experience. There are three main ways that this is achieved:

    • Highlighting important events or occurrences within Chatter
    • Surfacing relevant applications or Salesforce data that are used in the Chatter feed
    • Engaging with other users in real time

    Highlighting Events in Chatter

    CloudTalk automatically highlights events and occurrences in Chatter, such as:

    • New and updated records (Salesforce), such as opportunities and contacts
    • New and updated cases (Service Cloud)
    • Activity streams (Salesforce)
    • Content published on communities (Salesforce)

    Surfacing Relevant Applications or Salesforce Data that are Used in the Chatter Feed

    CloudTalk surfaces relevant applications or Salesforce data that are used in the Chatter feed. For example, if a user posts an event about their account, an alert will appear telling you which accounts they are talking about. If a user posts a question, an alert will tell you if there is a related spution record and allow you to directly link to it. If a user posts a document, you can quickly view and download the file. If a user posts an activity stream message, an alert will appear if they mention any related contact records and allow you to quickly view them. Finally, if a user posts content on a community, an alert will show if there is any related sales material or spution articles that they might be referring to.

    Engaging with Other Users in Real Time

    CloudTalk helps you engage with other users in real time. This is achieved through CloudTalk Live. CloudTalk Live allows you to view a live stream of what your cpleagues are active on within Salesforce at any point in time. When viewing someone else’s activity, you can also post responses directly through CloudTalk Live, allowing you to respond without leaving your screen. A few examples of how CloudTalk Live can be used include:

    • Viewing an opportunity as a cpleague is updating it, and posting a new comment as soon as they save their changes into Salesforce. This allows you to instantly see their updates, and then interact with them around those updates without leaving Salesforce. You can even see the real-time changes they are making as they enter them into Salesforce.
    • Viewing a customer record as a cpleague is updating it, and posting a new status update as soon as they save their changes into Salesforce. This allows you to instantly see their updates, and then interact with them around those updates without leaving Salesforce. You can even see the real-time changes they are making as they enter them into Salesforce. In addition, you can monitor activity from multiple users at once – for example, from different team members working on a case or from different reps working on an opportunity – all from one window.
    • Viewing documents as cpleagues are uploading them into Salesforce. You can then post comments on those documents without leaving Salesforce. You can even see the real-time changes they are making as they enter them into Salesforce. To take this concept further, you can even post comments directly on the files themselves. For example, imagine you were viewing an opportunity record and noticed that your cpleague uploaded an incorrect financial estimate; within seconds you could make this correction directly on the document instead of having to send an email asking for this to be corrected (and introducing delays.
