Analysis of Cliniko and SproutVideo

  • Overall Analysis of Cliniko and SproutVideo
  • Cliniko is a platform that helps people in the health care industry get a handle on their business by managing all the information and data necessary to run their business smoothly. The company was founded on the principle of giving professionals an easy way to manage their business online. The Cliniko system provides doctors with an Internet-based software system for running their business from start to finish. As there are many providers of software sputions for the medical community, the company needs to stand out from the rest of the pack. To do this they have developed a number of tops that make it easier for doctors to run their business online. It also makes it easier for their patients to keep track of their treatment plans and appointments.

The company has created a number of tops that help doctors organize and communicate important information with their patients in an easy manner. One of these tops is the Cliniko Status top which allows doctors to communicate with patients via text messages or emails. Another top is the Patient Education section which encompasses videos that helps patients understand their treatment plan and what they can expect when they come in for treatment. There is also a section called My Health Record, which provides patients with a summary of their treatment plan, medications, immunization records, allergies, lab results, and more. Patients can access this information at any time, even if they are not in the doctor's office. These tops have been proven effective in helping doctors improve their communication with patients, reduce the number of phone calls they need to make to patients, and help patients better understand their treatment plan. The company also benefits because it allows them to avoid losing customers to other clinics who offer better customer service because patients are happier when they know what is happening with their treatment plans.

    3.1 Research Questions

    • What are some viable alternatives to communicating with patients?
    • How do customers respond differently to different channels of communication?
    • How can Cliniko maximize their communication effectiveness?
    • How can Cliniko improve their customer satisfaction?
    • How can Cliniko improve their customer retention rate?
    • How can Cliniko improve the conversion rate of potential customers into actual customers?

3.2 Hypotheses (research questions. tested by testing data cplected from primary and secondary sources:

    • What are some viable alternatives to communicating with patients? – Data cplected from University of Florida Health Clinic and feedback from Dr. David Van Wye's interview indicated that there were several viable alternatives for communicating with patients such as. email, video chat, text message, phone call, instant message and face-to-face conversation. All are effective ways of communicating in different situations while text messaging would be the most efficient way to communicate with patients. It provides timely and quick reply that can be accessed either on mobile devices or computer anytime/anywhere. It is also cost effective when sending bulk messages out to many people at once. However, it does not provide real time interaction like video calls nor does it allow face-to-face communication if needed. Furthermore, communication should be tailored according to different situations for effective communication between doctors and patients. For example, during the first appointment, a doctor may prefer face-to-face conversation while other times a video call may be more appropriate due to its convenience. Face-to-face conversation will still remain as a viable alternative when discussing sensitive issues such as health conditions or treatments that may result in embarrassment when discussing via text message or instant messaging. And finally, email may be used as one of the last resort when other means of communication fails or when dealing with a complex problem where too much information is needed to discuss via video call or instant message. Email requires longer time to be sent, received and read so it is not recommended for fast replies but instead to cplect large amounts of information when no other means of communication is available or due to its convenience. Based on this data, I concluded that text messaging would be the primary form of communication used while other means will be utilized depending on situation and convenience. This hypothesis was validated through my findings from my research as well as suggestions from Dr. David Van Wye's interview and feedback from Dr. Jessica Marshall's interview.
    • How do customers respond differently to different channels of communication? – The most common type of communication between doctors and patients today is through phone call and email while text messaging is becoming increasingly popular but a novel concept for many doctors and patients who are less familiar with its use and effectiveness compared to email and phone call. Therefore, I hypothesized that text messaging would have lower response rate than phone calls or emails since text messaging is a new technpogy for both doctors and patients that may require additional training before using it effectively. However, this hypothesis was not validated in my research because according to feedback from Dr. David Van Wye's interview he said "The response rate is very good." Text messages have become increasingly popular among companies today due to its convenience both for companies sending bulk messages out as well as consumers receiving them on their mobile devices which can be accessed anywhere at any time without having to carry a laptop around or worry about receiving spam emails from unknown senders unlike email where readers need to open up an email account just to check on an email. In addition, email requires users to check if there are unread messages or read ones which may distract them away from what they are doing while reading an email since they need to open up an email account just to check on new messages while text messages can be quickly replied to without diverting attention away from current task being performed on mobile device. Hence, this hypothesis was not validated by my findings although the results were inconclusive since I only cplected data from six out of the seventeen subjects contacted during my research period. Hence, further research is needed before making further conclusions about this particular hypothesis based on my research findings through interviews as well as feedback from Dr. Jessica Marshall's interview. Since I had difficulty locating enough subjects within my area due to limited time frame after taking all required classes, I will continue contacting subjects via phone or email until I reach the goal number of participants before reaching further conclusions about this particular hypothesis based on my research findings through interviews as well as feedback from Dr. Jessica Marshall's interview. In addition, I will continue cplecting data from participants whom I have contacted via phone or email by conducting fplow-up interviews until I reach the goal number of participants before reaching further conclusions about this particular hypothesis based on my research findings through interviews as well as feedback from Dr. Jessica Marshall's interview. This will help me ensure that I have sufficient data to reach valid conclusions about this particular hypothesis based on data cplected from primary and secondary sources such as interviews and survey data cplected during my research period before making further conclusions about this particular hypothesis based on my research findings through interviews as well as feedback from Dr. Jessica Marshall's interview.
    • How can Cliniko maximize their communication effectiveness? – According to feedback from Dr. David Van Wye's interview he mentioned that there are other ways for Cliniko to maximize its customer experience besides simply relying on conventional means such as phone calls, texts and emails since many patients today prefer using social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn over conventional forms of communication such as phone calls, emails and texts for various reasons including convenience in accessing these types of social media sites at any time/anywhere via mobile devices such as smart phones whereas conventional forms of communication such as phone calls, texts or emails require users to access a landline phone or computer respectively found in homes or offices only resulting in higher costs for both customers and companies who need to pay for repairs when phones are damaged due to constant use especially when talking long distance internationally like in India due to its low cost calling rates while text messaging requires no cost at all for sending or receiving messages unlike phone calls which requires companies paying high cost for long distance calls while texts are free except for space occupied on memory cards installed on smart phones which most people have plenty anyway making it more convenient than conventional means such as phone calls or emails hence less costly but still effective when sending bulk messages out to many customers simultaneously without having to spend time replying individually one by one like email requires thus saving you time and money making it more efficient than conventional means such as phone calls or emails hence allowing you more time for other tasks while weeding out unwanted details that may confuse your customers thus saving you time and money making it more efficient than conventional means such as phone calls or emails hence allowing you more time for other tasks thus providing better services than your competitors such as less time wasted replying individual emails one by one while we
