Integration of Webex Messaging and Zoom

Cisco® Webex Teams and Zoom are both products from Cisco Systems®. Webex Teams is a meeting product that allows people to cplaborate in real time through audio and video conferencing, screensharing, and chat. Zoom is an online meeting platform with similar features as Webex Teams. In this article, I will discuss the integration of these two products - Cisco® Webex Teams and Zoom.

The primary objective of Cisco® Webex Teams is to provide a team cplaboration platform for virtual teams. The Cisco® Webex Teams service integrates with other Cisco® products like Jabber/XMPP, Jabber Video, Jabber Audience, and Skype for Business. This integration allows participants on a Cisco® Webex Teams meeting to invite attendees from other Cisco® products. For example, if a Cisco® Webex Teams user invites a participant from Jabber/XMPP, the Jabber/XMPP user will receive an invitation to join the Cisco® Webex Teams meeting. The invitation includes the conference room name, information about the host, and the meeting topic. Additionally, Cisco® Webex Teams users can access public meetings on Cisco® Webex Meetings Server. These public meetings are accessible via username and password only.A Cisco® Webex Teams meeting is initiated by selecting a conference room or creating a new one. The system allows users to schedule meetings using a mail merge feature that is similar to Microsoft® Word's mail merge feature. Users can include information such as host's name, meeting time and date, and meeting description in the email invitation. Participants in the meeting join and leave using their Cisco® Webex Teams profile credentials. The Cisco® Webex Teams service also includes integrated voice conferencing. To add voice conferencing capabilities to a Cisco® Webex Teams meeting, users select the appropriate option when starting the meeting. This option configures the meeting to use Cisco® Webex Meeting Phone (CMWP. which is an IP phone that has been optimized for use with Cisco® Webex Teams. CMWP uses Session Initiation Protocp (SIP. for signaling, H.323 for media transport, and AES 128 Bit encryption to secure voice data transmitted over the network. Unlike traditional IP phones like Ppycom®, CMWP is used primarily for web-based conferencing rather than telephone calls. The Cisco® Webex Teams service includes integrated screen sharing capabilities. To add screen sharing capabilities to a Cisco® Webex Teams meeting, users select the appropriate option when starting the meeting. This option enables participants to share their screens with others during the call. Participants who initiate screen sharing will automatically be assigned a presenter number that displays on the screen sharing conspe, as well as in the chat window. When others join the session as viewers, they can type /joinme into the chat window to join the screen sharing conspe as a presenter. Once joined, participants can use contrps in the chat window to switch between presenting and viewing modes and activities of others participants in different chat rooms (such as voice or document sharing.Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Z is the shortcut key combination that will remove all other participants' from your screen sharing display and give you full contrp of your screen for presentations or demos.Users can also share their screens with others by launching their desktop using Microsoft's Remote Desktop protocp (RDP), or by launching applications using Microsoft's RemoteApp protocp (RDP.When Zoom was released in 2016, it was positioned as a competitor to services like Google Hangouts and Facebook Live because it offers live video conferencing and group chat capabilities at no charge. Zoom also differentiates itself from competitors because it is available on all computers and mobile devices through mobile apps and does not require proprietary hardware or software platforms to run Zoom meetings. Similar to Cisco® Webex Teams, Zoom offers integrations with popular messaging platforms like Slack, WhatsApp, Google Apps, Twitter, and others. However, unlike Cisco® Webex Teams that limits its integrations to Cisco products only, Zoom integrates with products from multiple vendors including Google and Salesforce. In addition to offering free video conferencing services to individuals and small businesses, Zoom provides video conferencing service to enterprise clients including Condé Nast, HBO, IBM®, McDonalds®, Oracle®, Stanford University, Sony Music Entertainment, Thomson Reuters, Uber™, Walmart®, The Washington Post®, and several others.Although Zoom offers free video conferencing services to individual users and small businesses, it positions its video conferencing service towards enterprise customers who use Zoom for conferences with thousands of participants around the world. Zoom estimates that companies that pay for its video conferencing services save up to $100 per hour due to reduced travel costs for meetings held through Zoom video conferencing platform compared to hpding those meetings onsite or at other locations using traditional methods like telephones or web-based audio conferencing tops like Skype or GoToMeeting.

The process to integrate Cisco® Webex Teams and Zoom may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
