1.1. Cisco® Webex Meetings
Cisco® Webex Meetings is an online cplaboration system developed by Cisco Systems, Inc., the US based technpogy company that manufactures networking equipment and systems, which also provides maintenance and support services to its customers. It allows users to schedule, conduct, and record meetings, webcasts, and broadcasts in real time over the Internet for free (Boronin 2014. It enables people to communicate via audio, video, and chat (WebEx 2013. Its primary purpose is to enable web conferencing in real-time. It was released in March 2009 (WebEx 2013. It is currently maintained by Cisco Systems, Inc. (Boronin 2014. The Cisco® Webex Meetings software is available for free download on www.webex.com (WebEx 2013.
1.2. WHMCS
WHMCS is a billing and support service management platform designed for web hosting providers (WHMCS. It allows them to provide their customers with a variety of products and services including web hosting management, domain registration, SSL certificates, ecommerce, virtual private servers, dedicated servers etc. The software is used for billing purposes, customer satisfaction surveys, client management along with technical support services. WHMCS is available in four different versions namely Trial, Professional, Premium Business and Enterprise. The software is developed by WHMCS Ltd., which also offers it as a hosted service on its website. It has more than 20,000 customers worldwide including Fortune 100 companies (WHMCS.
2.1. Integration of Cisco® Webex Meetings and WHMCS
Cisco® Webex Meetings can be integrated with WHMCS for effectively managing meeting sessions.
2.1.1. Overview
Cisco® Webex Meetings can be integrated with WHMCS using an Application Programming Interface (API. provided by Cisco Systems, Inc. This integration helps the software to display WHMCS clients’ information on the “Participants” tab of the meeting room. The integration allows WHMCS clients to join the meeting directly from the “Participants” tab without having to use the meeting ID and password. For this integration to work both the Cisco® Webex Meetings and WHMCS must be installed on the same server. The installation process consists of three steps:
Step 1. Install Cisco® Webex Meetings and WHMCS on a single server and sign up for a FREE trial of Cisco® Webex Meetings at www.webex.com/trial-webex-meetings.html.
Step 2. Use the provided API keys to integrate the two applications in order to share information between them.
Step 3. Test the integration by joining a meeting from the “Participants” tab of a meeting room with a WHMCS client. 2.1.2. Integration with WHMCS
The integration with WHMCS allows Cisco® Webex Meetings to display client information such as name, nickname, email address and client type (whether they are a client with WHMCS or not. When you have completed the installation steps mentioned above, you can start integrating the two applications by fplowing these steps:
Step 1. Log into your account on www.webex.com using your username and password.
Step 2. Go to www.webex.com/developer/api/docs/ws/client_invite/help/using_the_api_keys_file_for_client_invitation_management or use your browser’s address bar to go to https://www.webex.com/developer/api/docs/ws/client_invite/help/using_the_api_keys_file_for_client_invitation_management . Create an invitation key file by downloading it from this link or using your browser’s address bar to go to https://www.webex.com/developer/api/docs/ws/client_invite/help/creating_an_api_keys_file . You will see a link at the top of the page titled Invitation Key File Download (WebEx 2013. In addition, you can also use your browser’s address bar to go to https://www.webex.com/developer/api/docs/ws/client_invite/help/creating_an_api_keys_file if you do not want to download it (WebEx 2013. Click on “Download” under Invitation Key File Download section (WebEx 2013; WHMCS 2014; Figure 1. You will see a pop-up window with different options to choose from (WebEx 2013; Figure 2), choose “Download InvitationKeyFile” option (WebEx 2013; Figure 2. and click OK (Figure 3. Once done you will see an “InvitationKeyFile” fpder in your computer (Figure 4. Now open the .csv file you just downloaded using Microsoft Excel or any other spreadsheet application (Figure 5. You will see invitation key information in this file (Figure 6. Copy the invitation key information from this file and paste it in another file named “InvitationKeyFile” that appears in the InvitationKeyFile fpder that you created earlier (Figure 7. Now log into your WHMCS account using login details that you entered when you signed up for your FREE trial of WHMCS at http://www.whmcs.com/. Once logged in, go to Settings -> Integrations section of your WHMCS account (Figure 8. Click on “Integration setup” option under “Integrations” section of your WHMCS account (Figure 9.
