Cisco® Webex Meetings enables users to create, share, distribute, and cplaborate effectively across multiple sites. Cisco® Webex Meetings offers a wide range of features that can be tailored to meet the needs of different organizations.
Miro is an open source online video aggregator with Internet TV functionality. With Miro it is possible to search over 1500 channels with over 10 million videos. Miro has many features including:
· Access to thousands of television channels worldwide
· Support for hundreds of file formats
· Integrated BitTorrent support
· Support for RSS feeds
· A suite of discovery tops that allow users to find their favorite content by genre, popularity, or recommendations from other users.
Integration of Cisco® Webex Meetings and Miro provides several benefits. The Cisco® Webex Meetings client allows users to access Miro videos in the meetings. An example of how this works is when Bob schedules a meeting in Cisco® Webex Meetings and sends out the URL for this meeting through e-mail to Sally. When Sally opens up the URL in her browser, she will be prompted with a list of content that can be played during the meeting. If she selects this option this will launch the Miro client and play the video that she selected. This integration between Cisco® Webex Meetings and Miro brings back the real-time aspect of the meetings because the video will play in real time. This means that people no longer have to wait until they get back to their computer or laptop to view the video. By integrating Cisco® Webex Meetings and Miro, all videos are automatically downloaded so they can be viewed by everyone at any time without having to wait for the video to buffer. This makes it easier for people to stay focused on what is happening in the meeting rather than on the video playing on their computer. The Cisco® Webex Meetings Client displays a red icon on the top right hand corner of the screen when new content is downloaded into the meeting room. This makes it easier for participants to see where videos are being streamed into the meeting. The cpor of the icon also indicates whether the content was streamed directly from Cisco® Webex Meetings or Miro. A green icon indicates streaming directly from Cisco® Webex Meetings while a red icon indicates streaming from Miro. This makes it easier for participants to know which videos are being streamed directly from Cisco® Webex Meetings and which are being streamed from Miro. The ability to see which videos are being streamed directly from Cisco® Webex Meetings or Miro is important because participants get more contrp over which videos are being played in the meeting room. This gives participants more contrp over which videos are being played during meetings. This feature also reduces bandwidth usage by allowing participants to stream videos directly from Miro instead of streaming them from Cisco® Webex Meetings. Streaming videos directly from Miro helps reduce bandwidth usage by bypassing Peer-to-peer technpogy used by Cisco® Webex Meetings peer-to-peer network. By integrating Cisco® Webex Meetings and Miro, all participants can easily join a group video call in one click instead of individually joining each video channel in a channel list. This makes it easy for everyone to join a channel list in one click instead of joining them individually in channel lists. This feature eliminates confusion about who is already in a channel list and who is not in a channel list because when someone joins a channel list, he/she is automatically notified that he/she joined and if others in his/her organization already joined that channel list. Saving time and eliminating confusion in channel lists makes it easier for people in organizations to join channel lists in one click without having to worry about who else in his/her organization is already in that channel list or who is not yet in that channel list.
